I don’t know if it is just me but last night’s episode of Ugly Betty was like CSI Fashion Crime Division. I you are a regular reader of this blog you probably already know that we at the Couch Potato aren’t what you would call crime drama fans. I don’t mind crime dramas but I think there is much better television than essentially watching the same crime over and over again with a little different twist. Why do I bring this up? Essentially last night’s episode was what Ugly Betty would be like as a crime drama. I would have to say that Ugly Betty would not make a very good crime drama.
Overall I thought the episode was only average. I just didn’t find the case to be that interesting. I am just not that interested in who pushed Christina down the stairs. To top that off I found the storyline to pretty much be a reason to just essentially write Alexis off. If they wanted to get rid of Alexis I think they could have done a much better job. While I have never been a huge fan of Alexis, I think the show is making a mistake of downgrading her to just a recurring character.
As far as the future storyline of Daniel Jr. actually being Alexis’ son I don’t know what to think. I personally think it is going to turn into a really stupid plot idea but I guess you never really know. I just don’t think the storyline is really believable. I also think it is pretty stupid since I liked where the show was going with Daniel becoming a father. I don’t think that will last much longer.

- As already mentioned the police investigate the attempted murder of Christina. Betty essentially becomes a detective (I guess everyone thinks they can become one now) after Daniel is arrested for the attempted murder. Betty essentially expects everyone at some point during the episode. It turns out that Alexis is guilty of pushing Christina down the stairs. Alexis did it when she knew that there was no way she could get rid of Wilhelmina as long as the baby lived. Alexis turns herself in but before she is taken away she tells Claire that she is actually Daniel Jr’s father.
- Meanwhile Wilhelmina uses the whole thing to gain publicity. At least she has enough heart to give Christina some time alone after she finds out that Stuart was only using the drugs to help out with the pain after he found out that the experimental treatment didn’t work and that he is going to die.
- Ignacio finds out that Tony is married. Ignacio is so disappointed in Hilda but he eventually forgives her.
