Betty, Wilhelmina, Marc, and Daniel: Betty is sick of working for Players. Betty knows Daniel is as well but he refuses to admit it. Betty actually finds that Daniel has come up with some ideas for Mode. Betty shows these ideas to Alexis and she actually likes them. This worries Wilhelmina since she thinks Betty could get in the way of her future plans.
Wilhelmina decides to try and hire Betty in order to get her away from Daniel. Betty doesn’t take the job at first but eventually does since she wants to continue her career and sees no future career at Players. Betty quickly makes a good impression on Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina eventually decides to make Betty her protege. Betty eventually realizes that the job is doing to her. She actually envisions herself as Wilhelmina (the funniest moment of the episode) and decides to quite her current job.
Betty doesn’t leave Mode for very long though. Betty (with the help of Marc who is sick of being replaced) finds a bunch of letters Wilhelmina was keeping hidden that showed that fans of Mode really liked Daniel as editor in chief. Combined with the fact that Wilhelmina’s first issue of Mode sold few copies, Daniel resumes his role as editor in chief of Mode. Wilhelmina is pushed back to just the creative director.
Hilda: Hilda and Tony decide to finally go on an official date. Things are going fine until Tony accidently leaves his phone at Mode. Betty sees on the phone pictures of Tony kissing another woman. Hilda tells Betty that he is married and Betty is disappointed that she is dating a married man. Hilda doesn’t care though since she is in love with Tony. Tony ends up missing their date and Hilda finds out that he is still with his wife even though he has told her multiple times that he was getting a divorce.
Daniel and DJ: Daniel gets some shocking news when he finds out that DJ’s grandparents are trying to win custody over DJ. Daniel doesn’t know what to do. He wants DJ to live with him but he doesn’t know what DJ wants. Daniel eventually asks DJ who he would like to live with. DJ says that he would like to continue to live with him. Daniel decides that he will continue to fight for custody over DJ.
Christina: Christina finds out that Stuart is doing drugs instead of getting his treatment. Stuart tries to explain himself but Christina doesn’t want to listen and even threatens to deport him. At the end of the episode Christina is pushed down a flight of stairs and we are left to wonder what happened.
