Ugly Betty’s third season began last and I have to say that I am pretty happy with the direction that the show is taking. It is about time the Betty is finally starting to grow up a little. It’s always nice to see her as more than a secretary at work since she is obviously overqualified for that job.One thing I am a little hesitant about is Betty’s apparent new love interest who just happens to be her new neighbor. I really wish Betty would have picked either Henry or Gio.
One thing I didn’t like about the premiere is that I think the Lindsy Lohan character is just stunt casting. I just didn’t like that character and it felt like she was only brought on for a couple episodes in order to bring some more viewers to the show. While it is good to get more viewers for good shows I don’t like when the casting was obvious for that reason.

Betty’s New Life: Betty ends up picking neither Gio or Henry. She instead goes on a vacation around the USA in order to find herself. When she returns home she decides to take charge of her life which involves being more involved at work and getting an apartment in the city. Betty heads to work and realizes Daniel is now in charge of the Player magazine (a magazine for men). Betty doesn’t like it at first but decides to go with the flow. Betty ends up being tricked into buying a crummy apartment in the city.
Meanwhile at work Daniel twists one of Betty’s ideas and creates the Player’s girls. Betty has to fill in for one of the girls when they fail to show up and she ends up making a fool out of herself (see above picture). Nothing is going well in Betty’s life. Things start to turn around. Betty uses the video of her goof on the internet in order to draw more people to the magazine. Betty starts to get more authority at work. Betty’s family also helps her fix up her apartment. Finally Betty meets her new neighbor (Jessie) who she appears to like.
Ignacio’s New Job: Ignacio ends up getting a job at a fast food restaurant. His superior is Kimmy (Lindsy Lohan) who used to pick on Betty in school. At work Kimmy starts limiting Ignacio’s hours so Betty and Hilda confront her. They end up getting into a huge food fight and they are both thrown out of the store. Ignacio also gets fired. Betty eventually apologizes to her and gets Ignacio his job back.
The “New” Mode: Since Wilhelmina has taken over Mode it has become dark and cold. Wilhelmina gets upset when Alexis won’t approve her new budget for the magazine. Wilhelmina tricks Alexis to join her on Regis and Kelly where Regis and Kelly precede to insult Hotflash (Claire’s Magazine). Alexis starts to thin Hotflash is a joke so she downsizes it which really upsets Claire. Claire tells Alexis that Wilhelmina is just playing her and she will eventually run the whole company.
Daniel The Father: DJ is out of control and is acting like a brat but Daniel can’t punish him since he has already gone throughso much in his life. Daniel eventually punishes DJ after he steps over the line. DJ is mad at first but finally realizes that Daniel is there for him even if he has to punish him.
