The Amazing Race S14.E1 Don’t Let a Cheese Hit Me
Last night the fourteenth Amazing Race began and I have to say that I think this season of the Amazing Race could be pretty good. While not a lot of teams were featured in this week’s episode I already have a couple favorites. First I don’t know how you could not love Margie and Luke (the mother and son team). Even though he is deaf, I think this team could truly be a threat since they seem to have amazing teamwork.
The second team I like are the stuntman. They seem like a team that is just out to enjoy themselves. One thing that puzzles me though is how they could get a lot of stuntman jobs with how short they are. I would have to assume that they have to be child stuntman. Just like Margie and Luke I think they could be huge threats since nothing will scare them since they have probably already done everything that the Amazing Race could ever throw at them.
As far as the challenges this week, I have to say that the cheese carrying task was one of the poorest designed challenges in Amazing Race history. It was pretty much impossible to complete the challenge without falling down. Combine that with the fact that the carriers didn’t stay together, and the challenge was a disaster. The good news is that it actually was pretty funny to see the teams struggle in the challenge. If I was one of the teams in the challenge, I would have “accidentally” dropped my cheese and let gravity do the rest of the work. The smartest team in the challenge had to have been Linda and Steve who were smart enough to turn one of their carriers into a sled.
Desperate Housewives S5.E15 In a World Where the Kings are Employers
This week’s episode of Desperate Housewives didn’t really stand out in any way. It actually kind of seemed like a rehash of a previous episode. None the less it was still a decent episode.
The storyline of the episode had to be Orson being obsessed with Andrew getting paid over twice as much as him. I personally don’t know why he cared so much since I am assuming he and Bree share all their cash in the first place.
Otherwise it appears that Dave is about ready to make his move. I personally think this is a little soon. If Dave starts making his move now I don’t know what the series will do with his character the rest of the season. Hopefully they don’t cop out at the end and make Dave not as evil as we all think.
Finally I am personally getting a little sick and tired of the Susan hates Katherine storyline. While I can see Susan not wanting Katerine to replace her, Susan is getting pretty annoying.
Brothers & Sisters S3.E15 Lost & Found
After foreshadowing this entire season, we finally get to meet the famous Ryan. At this point I am not really that impressed. He is kind of boring in my opinion. Maybe he will get more interesting when he finally attends one of the famous Walker family get togethers. There is no better way to meet your family then with a huge fight.
Meanwhile I have to say that Tommy is an idiot. I still want to know how he thought his plan would actually work. His plan was just so stupid that I am glad he is going to most likely be caught. My guess is that he makes a run for it and that is why he will no longer be a regular on the series.
While I usually don’t speculate about future episodes I have to say I am intrigued by the next episode. While I don’t know why it is called a 2-hour movie, it does intrigue me. Since the commercial promised us a death I have a couple ideas of who it can be. As a matter of fact only a couple of character really could die and not really mess up the show. My top guess is that it will be Kitty’s unborn child. Other options include Holly, Tommy, Julia, or Saul.
Family Guy S7.E7 Ocean’s Three and a Half
I seriously want to know why it has been so long since we had the last Family Guy. It actually has been almost three months since the last episode. It just boggles my mind that Fox would wait so long for another episode.
That being said I didn’t think last night’s episode was that great. I have to say that it is good that they finally had Bonnie give birth. While I thought a parody of the Ocean’s series could have made a great episode, the episode failed to capitalize on the possibilities. Too much time was spent on Stewie’s storyline and the gang didn’t get to the heist early enough in the episode.
That said the episode did have some laughs but also had just as many duds.
The Simpsons S20.E10 Take My Life, Please
After so many years, The Simpsons is finally in HD. While the show truly does look better in HD, I was a little disappointed in the upgrade. Most animated films look amazing in HD so I thought the Simpsons would look just as good.
With the switch to HD, the Simpsons also finally got a new opening sequence. While it is strange to have a new opener after so many years, I actually welcome the new opener. It keeps most of what made the original so great but it also found out ways to bring in more of the Simpsons characters.
While I liked the upgrade to HD and the new opener, the one thing that disappointed me was the story itself. The story wasn’t terrible but the storyline has been done to death in the past. You also have to wonder who in the world came up with the idea of a future telling pasta sauce. The two highlights of the night was some of the names on the Springfield Wall of Fame and the fact that Moe’s is “now in high def”.
Hopefully now that The Simpsons have finally shifted to HD they can start adding some more interesting storylines.
