Will Ludlow be able to keep his job while he tracks down his former partner’s killers.
Taking one look at the cast for this movie you need to be pretty impressed. With Keanu Reeves (Matrix trilogy), Forrest Whitaker (Last King of Scottland), Hugh Laurie (TV show House), Jay Mohr, Amaury Nolasco (Sucre on Prison Break), and Terry Crews (Chris’ father on Everybody Hates Chris) you have a great mix of some TV and movie veterans along with some TV up and comers. With so much to offer as far as the cast is concerned you would think that this movie couldn’t disappoint. You would be wrong.
Overall I thought Street Kings was a pretty bad movie. It’s not because of the acting (the acting is actually very good which is a good thing with so many names in the cast) but because of the boring and dull plot. I never thought a police drama could be so boring. Since a movie relies heavily on the plot, the plot really takes down Street Kings.
The plot mostly revolves around the police department and more specifically the dirty cops at the police department. The movie focuses on how the police cover up things in order to protect their own. Since this is a cop movie you would think there would be some action. While there are some gunfights I personally don’t think the movie was very action packed. I think the movie tried too hard to be a police drama.
You already know that I really didn’t enjoy the movie so what did I think of the special features. I do give credit as far as the amount of special features. I personally didn’t really enjoy them but it is pretty hard to enjoy special features for a movie you didn’t enjoy. I didn’t enjoy the special features but I am guessing people that enjoyed the movie would also enjoy the special features.
So you should be able to tell that I really didn’t like Street Kings. I thought is was very boring and the plot disappointed quite a bit in my opinion. I really am not a fan of police dramas so that is probably at least part of the problem I had with it. If you like police dramas you will probably like Street Kings. If like me you don’t like police dramas you should avoid Street Kings.
