  • Julia’s creative side first appeared when she was 3. She drew pictures of her parents drinking tea and by the time she was 6, her artwork was featured locally in newspapers, magazines, etc. She quickly expanded her talents to writing and dancing.
  • Julia was student body president of her high school and was also active in many clubs and sports. She also graduated with a 4.0 GPA and perfect SAT scores.
  • She was a state finalist in the Miss America pageant at the age of 16.
  • Ling originally majored in biomedical chemical engineering at the University of California before she pursued her love of performing.
  • Julia’s TV debut was a small role on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
  • In 2007, Julia competed in the Jackie Chan Disciples, a martial arts competition. She was selected as a finalist but couldn’t represent the United States at the international competition because of her role on “Chuck.”
  • Julia’s martial arts training includes Shao-Lin Kung Fu, Animal Styles, and Weapons.
