While I thought this episode was kind of boring, I am actually liking what Smallville is doing this season. Last year was far from a good season in my opinion. Last season was one of those seasons that tell you that a show has been on the air too long. The addition of Kara was one of the only bright spots of last season and she has now magically disappeared. This season is actually reviving the series a little. While I still think this should be the last season, at least Smallville will be able to go out on a better note.
What I like about this season is that Clark is finally growing up and is finally taking steps towards actually becomming Superman. While the show never wanted to get into the formation of Superman, I think that the fact that they are finally doing that is the cause of the revitalization this season. I honestly don’t know why the show need 7 seasons to finally start turning Clark Kent into Superman.
Well that is enough about the season in general, what about this week’s episode. As I already mentioned the episode was pretty boring in my opinion. At this point I and finding Davis/Doomsday to be pretty boring. He will probably be more interesting as he becomes the villain of the season but at this point he has been pretty boring.
This week’s case involves a string of murders. Clark thinks the murderer is one of Chloe’s meteorite freaks but Chloe trusts them. This leads to them getting into a fight. Clark eventually turns his attention to Davis since he has been suspiciously at many of the murder scenes (I honestly don’t know why no one thinks that Clark is a criminal since he always seems to make an appearance wherever a crime takes place). Chloe actually starts coming to the same conclusion when Davis tells her that he thinks he is behind the killings since has blacked out a lot recently. It actually turns out that Davis was responsible for some of the murders even though one of Chloe’s meteorite freaks admit to all the killings even though he didn’t do all of them. While the killer is caught, Jimmy becomes suspicious of the new hero in town and is determined to find out his identity (Clark).
