S8.E7 My New Role
and S8.E8 My Lawyer’s In Love ![]()
Since last night’s two episodes were very similar in my opinion, instead of repeating myself I have decided to review both episodes in one post. Neither episode was great but just like this whole season, both were good episodes to help wrap up Scrubs as it nears it’s series finale. From Dr. Cox adjusting to his new job, to Ted falling in love; plenty of things happened in the two Scrubs episodes last night.
S8.E7 My New Role
In this episode Dr. Cox gets adjusted to his new job as the chief of medicine. In order to help adjusting to the position, Cox and Kelso form sort of a friendship. Cox is quickly overworked and is annoyed by JD (like usual), the Janitor (who wants his own office), and Carla trying to get the nurse’s voice finally heard.
This episode had some laughs including Cox’s allowed in office list, JD and Turk using Katie as their personal messenger (to send stupid messages between one another), the song played by the whole hospital, and the old man moving in with JD.
Quotes:
Eliot: “That’s why we don’t have sex very often.”
Cox: “I’m not going to hug you Ted.”
Todd: “Disrespecting nurses five.”
Cox: “Try again there Chewie.”
S8.E8 My Lawyer’s In Love
This episode had two main storylines. First Cox tried to balance too many things at once and eventually realized that he can’t do everything now that he is the Chief of Medicine. Dr. Cox decides to delegate tasks to some of the other people at the hospital. The other storyline features Ted finally falling in love with a ukulele player who sings for the sick children in the hospital.
Ted has always been the butt of jokes for years. It was always funny when the show made fun of Ted but since this is most likely the final season, I am glad that Scrubs is finally going to make Ted happy. The ukulele player is the perfect match for him. Meanwhile the Dr. Cox storyline didn’t provide a lot of laughs, but it was still a pretty good storyline. The highlight of the night though was when JD found out that Cox and Kelso were now friends after JD tried so hard and still isn’t Dr. Cox’s friend.
Quotes:
JD: “Ted we found you throwing rocks at old couples.”
Ted: “I’m not really comfortable murdering for her.”
Cox: “The kid is either a genius or an idiot.”
