Scrubs S8.E6 My Cookie Pants:
, ![]()
After the disappointment of My ABC’s, I have to admit that I was quite surprised by this episode. The episode had it’s fair share of laughs but it also started giving us some closure as we start approaching the Scrubs series finale.
In the first storyline JD and Elliot have been dating for a week and have yet to have sex. They decide to have sex after work but Elliot freaks out since she wants to make everything perfect so things finally work out for her and JD. She follows Turk around the hospital asking him to help her but the only advice he gives her is to not over think things. It turns out Elliot was over thinking things since JD didn’t care if she did anything special. As I have already mentioned this season, I am glad that JD and Elliot are back together. I am usually not a big fan of bringing couples back together after several breakups but this episode just confirmed that JD and Elliot are meant for one another. Let’s just hope they don’t break up again before the series finale.
The second storyline involved Dr. Cox contemplating about taking the Chief of Medicine position. At first he is excited about it but when Kelso tells him what is involved with the position, he decides to back out. After a sound scolding from Jordan, Kelso tells Dr. Cox that he needs to take the position since he will regret it if he doesn’t. Dr. Cox eventually decides to take the Chief of Medicine position. I have to say that I am happy with the development even though it really isn’t that surprising. You could tell from pretty much the first episode that the show was grooming Dr. Cox to eventually take over the hospital. Just like getting JD and Elliot back, this move was another step towards giving Scrubs fans some closure before the series finale.
The final storyline followed JD on his quest to try and get Denise to finally start caring about her patients. When Denise puts a patient through a painful procedure, JD gets angry with her until he realizes that the procedure helped them discover that the patient had cancer. JD takes Denise aside and tells her that while she needs to work on her patient care, everyone has faults that they need to work through.
So along with getting some closure, I thought this episode had it’s fair share of laughs. The funniest joke of the night was probably when Turk broke into the apartment in order to steal the cookies. I don’t know why exactly but I just found those couple of scenes to be funny. I also thought it was funny when the Janitor tried to be a surgeon since there was no Chief to enforce the rules. Finally I thought it was funny when JD threw dirty clothes at Elliot when she kept turning him on.
Quotes:
Dr. Cox (as the Janitor in scrubs walks by): “That can’t be good.”
Elliot: “I’m dating an idiot.”
Kelso: “Dr. Reid. When did you become homeless?”
Jordan (to the Janitor): “You better not be making me one of your janitor jokes.”
