Missed last night’s episode? You can check it out here: Scrubs - Scrubs, Season 8 - My Saving Grace, ABC.com

After a pretty impressive start to season eight, yesterday wasn’t too kind to Scrubs. First the ratings dropped quite a bit. Unless the ratings go back up again next week, this will most likely be Scrubs last season. Second both episodes yesterday weren’t Scrubs’ best. Both episodes weren’t bad but I thought they were both a step backward from last week’s episodes. One positive though is that the show appears to be wrapping things up for the most likely series finale that is coming pretty soon.

The Fall of Dr. Maddox: Since Courtney Cox was only signed on for three episodes, it shouldn’t have come as any surprise that Dr. Cox and Dr. Kelso decided that she needed to be replaced as chief of medicine. When Dr. Maddox finally pushes Dr. Cox too far, he rounds up the whole hospital staff and with Dr. Kelso’s blackmail is able to get Dr. Maddox fired. Now with the chief of medicine position open, I hope Scrubs gives the position to Dr. Cox. The show has hinted at Dr. Cox being Dr. Kelso’s replacement for years and since this is very likely the final season of Scrubs it is time to wrap up all of these storylines. Hopefully Dr. Cox gets the position that he has deserved for quite some time.

Carla’s Motherly Intentions: While watching the interns, Carla notices that Katie (the show off) isn’t really getting along with any of the staff. She is actually manipulating the other interns and is taking credit for their work. Carla in her mothering ways takes her aside to try and set her straight. She tells Katie that she needs to get along with her co-workers or life at the hospital will be miserable.

Quotes:

JD: “He wants to make you his wife.”

JD (to himself): “What happens if something bad happened to Turk?”

Dr. Maddox: “I love playing the bad guy.”

Dr. Cox: “Janitor. Would you like to start with your worthless ideas first?”
