Slater Mill in Pawtucket, Rhode Island: This is a very old mill that small children used to work at. They were the only ones who could crawl in and fix the machinery but many of them lost fingers and toes. Since the place is on the water, there is a high possibility for a residual haunting. Amongst the highlights of the place are feelings of being watched, entities on the second floor that apparently showed up on a motion detector, and a wheel that turns by itself.
Jason and Grant start off near the water wheel. They realize that if the water rises, it could easily make the wheel turn by itself. The two do some work with the K2 meter and it quickly lights up. The thing responds to nearly every question, even ones that require intelligence (how many people there are bald). Jason and Grant ask some of the same questions ten minutes later, in a slight different way, and it still responds the same way. If the K2 meter is to be believed (I wasn’t a believer until this episode), the entity is a 9 year old boy from the Central Falls region. He worked at the mill and is lonely. Jason and Grant also get the entity to keep the K2 meter lit and Jason gets cold at one point (Grant verified this with the temperature gage). To end the session, Jason invites the entity to his house and it lights up the K2 meter once again.
Joe and Kris do an EVP session and a machine turns on by itself. However, it is just a compressor that can be set to turn on automatically. Steve and Tango check out the attic. Tango gets a weird feeling near a spinning wheel but Steve thinks its just the fun house effect at work.
Evidence: Along with Jason and Grant’s amazing K2 session, three EVPs were picked up and two may very well be the boy. One is just an odd female voice that might have been a cat (nobody saw one on the property though). The others came from Jason and Grant’s K2 session. They asked the entity to yell as loud as they could and a pretty clear voice that may be saying “Hellllooooooo” is picked up. They also asked the boy to state his name as loud as he possibly could. They got another pretty clear voice that probably said “Edward” or “Edgar.” Jason and Grant have no problem calling the place haunted.
Pettibone Tavern in Simsbury, Connecticut: The place has reports of full body apparitions and names being called out. A fire recently nearly burned the place down and the owners want it investigated before renovations begin. The biggest legend of the Pettibone Tavern is the tale of Abigail. She married a sea captain but had an affair. When the sea captain found her in bed with another man, he be-headed both of them.
Jason and Grant start off in the basement and the EMF detector goes crazy due to the wiring. They see if the high EMFs make it upstairs and they do. This could lead to paranoia and may account for some of the activity. Steve and Tango see if the candles will light themselves after being blown out (this is another thing that has been reported at the place) but they don’t. Jason and Grant check out the ladies room (which was Abigail’s bedroom when she was alive) but only find an “angelic toilet.” Tango and Kris both go into an old phone booth and wind up getting stuck. Tango gets very nervous until Kris finally gets them out of it.
Evidence: No evidence was gathered and the Abigail story doesn’t appear to be true. While there was an Abigail Pettibone, she wasn’t murdered. While Jason and Grant can’t call the place haunted they do note that it is possible that the entities just aren’t there right now with nobody visiting the place due to the fire.
