On this special hour episode of “Criss Angel: Mindfreak,” Criss takes a road trip with Sully from Godsmack. He caps the trip off with one of his most dangerous stunts ever.
Taxi Trick: Sully gets into a taxi and Criss really wants him to get out. Criss eventually climbs on top the cab and two guys pull a tarp over him. When the tarp is removed, Criss is in the cab with Sully.
Radio Disappear: Sully likes an old radio he finds at an antique mall. Since the two are traveling via motorcycle, he has no way to bring it home. Criss puts a rug over it and makes it disappear. Since it would appear he was a shoplifter, he then runs out of the building.
Card Trick #1: At the Pioneer Saloon, Criss has a woman inspect a deck then touch the top of one card. He then has her show it to him (the card is the eight of diamonds) and he telepathically “sends” it to Sully at the other end of the bar. Sully manages to identify the eight of diamonds. I’m guessing the solution to this demonstration lies in Criss’ conversation. He probably had certain code words and Sully just had to remember what codes corresponded to which card.
Card Trick in the Desert: Criss cuts a deck in half then mixes them up (about half of them are face up while the other half or so are face down). He then has Sully remove a card, show it to the camera (the card is the 7 of spades), and put it back in. Criss then reveals that the deck is now all face down except for the seven of spades. However, I noticed what looked like a box of cards on the rock near where Criss stood while Sully picked his card. I’m guessing he figured out what card Sully picked then used the fresh deck instead of the one Sully picked from.
Card Trick #3: Criss asks a woman to shuffle a deck then touch one card. He then has her sign her name on it (the card is the four of diamonds). He then puts it back in the deck and asks the woman to cut the deck. He then flings all of the cards but the four of diamonds winds up stuck to a ceiling fan.
Math Trick: Criss does a trick at Silverado High School. He picks out three members of the football team (#1, #5, and #33-his number when he played high school football) and asks them to pick a random three digit number. #1 picks 639, #5 picks 368, and #33 chooses 526. Criss adds them all up and the sum is 1,533 or all three of their jersey numbers in a row.
Sully’s Demonstration: At a bookstore, Sully cuts out four newspaper clippings. He then asks a woman to pick one of the four. He writes down a prediction and lets the woman pick where he should cut the clipping. The first few words after the cut were “The report stopped short,” which sure enough he predicted.
Car Wreck Escape: The number 13 has always plagued Criss in his dreams. Every time he dreams about death, the number 13 plays a role. This demonstration is meant to rid himself of the number. Like the transport escape from last season, Criss will have to escape from two pairs of handcuffs and jump out of a car before it goes down a cliff and explodes. However, instead of 1:30 he will only have thirteen seconds to complete the task. He succeeds in the rehearsal but he doesn’t make it out during the actual demonstration. The car goes down the cliff with presumably Criss still inside and explodes at the bottom. Fire fighters have to put out the fire but Criss is still nowhere to be found. Did Criss Angel die or did he manage to make it out alive? The episode ends in a cliffhanger but considering there have been no reports of his death and he did a live show about a month or so ago, I’m going to go out on a limb and say he survives.
So what were your thoughts on the episode? Do you think you know how Criss performed one of the tricks? Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts since we always appreciate comments on The TV Legion.
