Phillip Torres (Cornell graduate):
- Question 1 (1st Grade Math): “How many sides are there on a right triangle?” He knows it it 3 and is correct.
- Question 2 (2nd Grade Animal Science): “Which of the following is a term for a baby male horse? A. Colt, B. Calf, C. Doe” He locks in with A and is correct.
- Question 3 (2nd Grade Science): “True or false? When water boils, it turns from a liquid into a gas.” He goes with true and is correct.
- Question 4 (1st Grade Social Studies): “How many U.S. federal holidays are there in the month of August?” He uses his peek. Bryce wrote 1 but Phillip goes with 0. Phillip is the correct one.
- Question 5 (3rd Grade Measurements): “How many milliliters are there in 0.45 liters?” He goes with 450 and is once again correct.
- Question 6 (3rd Grade U.S. Geography): “Pennsylvania borders which Great Lake?” He isn’t sure but he goes with Lake Erie. He’s right.
- Question 7 (4th Grade English): “Which sentence contains a transitive verb? A. The class ended early., B. The teacher found his notes., C. The students excelled.” He believes it is B and locks in with that answer. It’s the correct answer.
- Question 8 (5th Grade World Geography): “The mouth of the Indus River is in what country?” He has no idea so he has to drop out with his $100,000. He would have guessed India and been wrong since the answer is Pakistan.
Ralph Peschek (”leader of the lunch ladies”):
- Question 1 (1st Grade Music): “True or false? “By the dawn’s early light” are lyrics from the song “America the Beautiful.”" He goes with true but is incorrect because the answer is “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Luckily, Francesca saves him.
- Question 2 (3rd Grade Animal Science): (Field Trip Question) “Is a Japanese giant salamander warm-blooded?” He goes with false and is correct.
- Question 3 (2nd Grade World Geography): “If Jonathan were in Mexico City and he walked due west, what is the first ocean he’d eventually run into?” He peeks at Bryce’s paper and goes with his answer (Pacific). It’s the correct answer.
- Question 4 (2nd Grade Measurements): “Francesca has a jar containing U.S. pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. What is the minimum number of coins she can take out of the jar in order to have exactly 32 cents?” He knows it is 4 and is correct.
- Question 5 (1st Grade Astronomy): “The planets in our solar system orbit around what star?” He obviously says Sun and is correct.
- Question 6 (3rd Grade Art): “According to the color wheel, what color is complementary to orange?” He copies Olivia’s paper. The answer is blue but unfortunately Olivia said red. Ralph still leaves with $25,000.
