Reaper S2.E2 Dirty Sexy Mongol:Reaper - Reaper, Season 2 - Dirty Sexy Mongol

After a semi-disappointing season premiere, I think Reaper rebounded this week with a good episode. This week’s case was solid. I liked the idea that the show decided to use an older soul and hopefully this will continue in the future. I would love to see the gang face off against a mideval knight. As Reaper appears to be placing a larger emphasis on the season long storylines, I hope they don’t faze out the weekly soul assignments.

Sam and Andi searching for Alan is an interesting storyline and should provide an interesting season long story arc. The storyline also provides a good possibly for a series finale if this is the final season (which is a possibility). I actually want this storyline going two different directions based on whether the show gets another season. If this is the final season I hope Sam eventually finds out how to get out of his deal and is successful. Otherwise if Reaper is lucky enough to get another season (which it deserves), it obviously wouldn’t be much of a show is Sam got out of his deal with the devil.

While the storyline is little disturbing, Sock trying to hook up with his step-sister has been hilarious so far. The problem with this storyline though is that it continues to walk a thin wire. It is hilarious right now but I don’t know how much longer it can hold up. Eventually it isn’t going to be funny any longer so hopefully Reaper ends the storyline before that happens.

Finally Ben’s new girlfriend (the demon) is an interesting twist. I hope it just doesn’t become Xander and Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer all over again. Xander and Anya were a great couple but I don’t want Reaper to go down the same path. Reaper has done a good job to remain pretty unique. I don’t want Reaper to just start copying Buffy even though it was the second best show of all time. I am taking a wait and see approach on the relationship.
