Rave: While Chuck might not get the ratings it deserves, last night’s episode showed why this is one of the best shows on television. Come on, how could you not like a show where secret spy satellite codes are encoded into a video game and you need to beat the video game in order to find the codes. While the show might be a little nerdy the show does give people some of every type of tv genre so I have no idea why the show doesn’t have more viewers.
Rant: Heroes really needs to start doing some cast control and quick. I don’t know if there has ever been a show that has had so many problems controlling their cast. The number of cast members on Heroes is getting downright ridiculous. Add in all the recurring characters and you can tell why this is single handily the biggest problem with Heroes right now. Heroes hopefully is showing the rest of the television world that a television show can only have a certain amount of characters before it gets out of hand. While the show did some good things by writing off Maya and Elle (Kristen Bell deserves a much better role), the show should be far from done with the cast cuts. First on the chopping block should be Mohinder since his character has become a joke. At this point the only thing I like about Mohinder’s is his narration. Other candidates for cuts (in my opinion) include Nathan, Matt, and Tracy since they rarely do anything with these characters anyway. While I don’t think Heroes can get back to it’s season one form I think it can improve drastically if they would just cut the cast down.
Rave:It’s nice to see Tony Hale get another role. It’s been a while since I have seen him in anything since Arrested Development (where he played Buster). It’s nice when these type of actors get other roles after the show they are most known for is canceled (way too early in Arrested Development’s case). While it was nice to see Tony Hale get a role on Chuck I want him to get another regular role on a show since I believe he deserves more than just guest spots on television shows. I think Emmett is an interesting character but it leaves me wondering if the show will ever let Chuck improve his life or will he always be stuck as a Nerd Herd employee.
Rant: This rant goes out to NBC. NBC has already made some changes to it’s schedule but there is one thing NBC is really missing. NBC needs to make some changes to it’s Monday lineup. At this point NBC should already know that My Own Worst Enemy doesn’t have much chance at success so they should make a change. NBC should at least try moving Chuck to the 10/9 C time slot since I think with a Heroes lead-in Chuck could do much better. My Own Worst Enemy is just not fulfilling it’s potential and it is dropping viewers every week. Lets at least give Chuck a chance to survive.
Rave: I don’t know it is is just me but I was surprised by the new Gossip Girl relationship. While Blair and Chuck can’t decide what they want to do, Jenny and Nate have decided to give it a whirl. This really came out of nowhere in my opinion since the two characters rarely even shared a scene together. At this point I actually pretty interested by the relationship so it is going to get a rave so far. It could change in the near future though.
