Rave: Today’s election day and I don’t know if it is just me but I seriously am glad that the elections are finally going to be over. While I am glad that the elections are almost over I encourage everyone to vote and have their voice heard. I won’t tell you who to vote for since this isn’t a political blog after all. Back to why I am glad that the elections are almost over. It has nothing to do with the candidates. It is the ridiculous amount of political ads. If you watch as much television as I do you are bound to see a lot of political ads. This year was downright ridiculous. I don’t know if it was just Wisconsin but every other commercial was a political ad (sometimes every ad was a political ad). You eventually get sick of these ads and just wish the ads would stop. Well after today we thankfully won’t have to see anymore political ads for at least a year. Now we can finally be annoyed by advertisements for products we never plan to purchase in the first place.
Rant: This rant is going out to Ramona (Sheldon’s “Stalker”). I want to know how anyone could possibly stand being with Sheldon 24/7. I actually think it would be hard enough to actually stand him for over an hour in real life. I know scientists want to get their names out there but is it really worth being tortured by Sheldon. This actually got me to thinking how Sheldon has any friends in the first place. I would think it would be very hard to be friends with a man that has huge OCD tendencies and constantly insults other people since he thinks he is better than everyone else. I would actually consider myself to be kind of like Sheldon (without the thoughts of being better than everyone else) and I know I wouldn’t be friends with him. The good thing is this isn’t real life since Sheldon is hilarious on the show and was responsible for most of yesterday’s many laughs.
Rave: This rave goes out to Prison Break for a good episode in my opinion. This season has been a little up and down so far but I think last night’s episode was a bright spot. While I question how they killed Bellick I personally think it was a pretty good idea for the show. Sweeps is the time for deaths and many shows feel the urge to kill off crucial characters. While Prison Break took the easy way out, I think they made the right decision of who to kill off. I thought Prison Break made the smart choice and killed off Bellick. Bellick really wasn’t doing anything this season anyway so I don’t think the show will really miss him. I personally think the show should have wrote him off before this season and then they wouldn’t have had to kill him off. While Bellick fans will disagree with me, I think the show did the right thing killing him off.
Rant: While this would go against the whole premise of the show, I really want to know why no one in the Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles universe is questioning what is going on around them. First terminators are appearing out of thin air left and right. Second there are all these feats of superhuman strength occuring all over town. Finally no one even seems to question the terminator’s strange behavior. While most people wouldn’t believe what was happening, I want to know why barely anyone is even speaking up on what is happening. On top of that I want to know why no one has not noticed Catherine switching forms right in front of them. Lately she has done it right out in the open and yet no one seems to see it.
Rave: A rave for How I Met Your Mother on another good episode. I guess that really isn’t saying a whole lot especially since pretty much every episode of How I Met Your Mother is good. While this episode wasn’t as funny as How I Met Your Mother usually is, I liked the character development. I think How I Met Your Mother has some of the best character development of any comedy on television and this episode was an example why. Also how could you not love the Robin Canadian reference (those are always classics). Finally the show has finally decided to say goodbye to Stella. If you didn’t know, I was not a fan of Stella. Stella just didn’t have much chemistry with Ted and I would have been disappointed if she became the mother.
Rant: Worst Week is really starting to get out of hand in my opinion. While the show remains to be funny at times, the show is getting pretty ridiculous on the believability scale. While I can see why Sam is nervous (always being around his in-laws) I don’t think anyone can have as much misfortune and clumsiness that Sam has. I think you could take the unluckiest person in the world, combine them with the clumsiest person and the world and they still wouldn’t be as bad as Sam is.
Rave: I started this rants and raves with politics and I am going to end it with political coverage. I give props to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report for their coverage of the election. While most political coverage has droven me nuts the last couple months, Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert have been able to make politics interesting and even gave us quite a few laughs. While politics are really serious for the country, it is good to get a laugh here and there especially with all the trouble the country is currently in. It’s no wonder why tonight I am watching their election coverage over all the major networks.
Just as a forewarning there will most likely not be a rants and raves tomorrow since there really isn’t going to be anything on television today due to all the political coverage.
