Estate of Panic S1.E1 Get Out of My House

Last night Estate of Panic aired on Sci-Fi and before the show aired I didn’t give the show much of a chance. I thought it was pretty much a Fear Factor ripoff and I actually anticipated dropping the show after one episode. After watching the show I will have to say that I was actually surprised by it. It was actually much more interesting than I had planned. While it has similarities to Fear Factor, it is actually quite a bit different. The contestants do face their fears as they face different rooms of the Estate of Panic, but there is more than just facing your fears. Contestants need to grab as much money as they can without getting greedy in order to last to the final round. While the show is far from groundbreaking and could get old pretty quickly, I have to admit that the show persuaded me to continue watching which is a positive sign for the show.

While the show itself is pretty good, I think the host really adds to the experience and makes the show creepier which is a good thing. I applaud Sci-Fi for some good casting since I think it would be hard to find a better creepy owner for the house. Add to that the creepy butler (a necessity for every scary mansion) and the show is actually kind of creepy.

Bones S4.E9 The Con Man in the Meth Lab

Overall I thought last night’s episode of Bones was below average. First the case wasn’t that interesting and was actually a little hard to follow. When you have seen a corrupt cop storyline you have pretty much seen them all in my opinion.

Second I might be in the minority here but I really didn’t like the appearance of Booth’s brother in this episode. What I didn’t like is that the character really didn’t bring anything to the show in my opinion. His storyline was also pretty boring (at least in my opinion). I know some Bones fans will disagree with assessment and they would like to explain why they liked Booth’s brother I would gladly like to read their reasons in the comments section.

Quotes:

Sweets: “Why don’t I know about this top secret mission?”

Cameron: “He’s getting so big.”

Clark: “The only ex’s I care about are x-rays.”

Booth: “What am I, your pimp?”

Christina: “Jared is Booth light.”

Bones: “We’re all scientists here.” (Looks at Sweets) “Except you.”

Bones: “Should I try to shoot him?”

Bones: “Do you need time and space?”

Ghost Hunters S4.E24 Ghost Hunters Live Round Table Discussion

What probably won’t come as a surprise to a lot of people, I thought last night’s Ghost Hunters wasn’t that great. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since these “recap” type episodes are never as good as the normal shows. There were a couple interesting things in the episode though. First it was interesting to see all the fan mail that the Ghost Hunters receive. Then there was the highlight of the episode, the pitch that made Ghost Hunters a show. I don’t know if it was just me but I thought the Ghost Hunters pitch was actually pretty cheesy and funny. Well I am glad though that Sci-Fi thought it was good enough to pick up the show.

Mythbusters S6.E19 End With A Bang

Just like Ghost Hunters I thought last night’s Mythbusters was a bad episode for the show. I guess that is what comes out of an episode with no myths that you actually are that interested in. I guess I was a little interested on whether hitting the ground running would make you go faster but it was pretty obvious from the beginning that it wasn’t going to do anything. Not surprisingly the myth was busted. Then there was the weirdest myth I have ever heard (Polishing Dung). I don’t know if it is just me but I honestly don’t really care. I admit I was actually surprised when they actually were able to polish the dung but as I already said I didn’t really care. To end the episode the mythbusters blew up a moped and slowly burned a car to test whether it is better to go out with a bang or no bang. I personally prefferred the bang especially since the no bang was pretty disappointing in my opinion.
