The Amazing Race S13.E7 My Nose is on Fire
Yesterday’s episode of the Amazing Race was actually probably one of the better episodes of the season. This season has been disappointing to me because there really haven’t been any teams to root for and there have been quite a few to root against. Well this week was a week of mistakes. If this episode is any indication, this race is essentially down to three teams (Toni and Dallas, Nick and Star, and Ken and Tina). The other teams just make too many mistakes. It is pretty sad that a team with a speed bump is still able to pass two teams. As far as the divorcees being eliminated I can’t say I am sorry to see them go. Actually the only reason why I am not jumping for joy is that we don’t get to see anymore of their stupid mistakes which pretty much all came due to them not reading the clues.
As far as the episode itself I don’t know why everyone seemed to hate the roadblock so much. As long as the dye wasn’t toxic (which I am assuming it wasn’t) I think the roadblock would actually be pretty fun. If you are lucky enough to get on the Amazing Race you should enjoy yourself and immerse yourself in the many different cultures around the world.
One other thing I would like to bring up is Phil’s “companion” at the pit stop. While most of them just stand there with Phil, this week’s guy didn’t have any time to waste. While waiting for teams to arrive he decided to spend the time watering the garden. It was hilarious to then see him rushing back to the mat in order to get there before the teams got to the mat.
Favorite Quotes:
Frat Boys: “It’s like a party where no girls showed up.”
Ken: “Not everyday are you served water by the Incredible Hulk.”
Brothers and Sisters S3.E7 Do You Believe in Magic?
Overall last night’s episode of Brothers and Sisters was pretty solid. The episode wasn’t bad but nothing really stood out in my opinion. Kitty and Robert end up losing their adoption baby when Kitty asks the mother way too many questions. Overall I think this storyline is pretty solid even thought I think the pace could be picked up. Adopting a child takes a long time but this is a television show and I personally think the storyline will get pretty boring quickly if they just keep going through this routine of not getting a child. I am holding hope for the storyline though since I think it could lead to some interesting storylines once Kitty actually becomes a mother.
Meanwhile Kevin gets his first task as Robert’s communication director having to cover up a story. I personally still like the pairing of Robert and Kevin and I also like that it is allowing Robert to be more than just Kitty’s husband. Sara and her new business partners have some initial growing pains but seem to be on the right track to a successful business. I think this storyline has the potential to actually be a pretty interesting storyline and will actually give Sara a storyline that doesn’t deal with Ojai. Justin and Rebeca take the next step in their relationship by telling one another that they love each other. While some might think it is creepy, I like the relationship. Finally we have more Ryan and still haven’t seen him. Ryan’s father got to meet the family and I don’t blame him for not wanting his son to meet them. Just think what it would have been if it was actually a family diner (we all know how those turn out).
Quotes:
Nora: “Screw Holly.”
Saul: “I’m out of the closet now.”
Sara (to Nora): “Have you done the dance without pants?”
Kitty: “Nothing our mom does anymore shocks me.”
Nora: “Seductive. Which one of them hit on you?”
Desperate Housewives S5.E7 What More Do I Need?
I thought last night’s episode of Desperate Housewives was a continuation of a great season of Desperate Housewives so far this season. While this episode wasn’t as funny as some of the others this season I thought it was still a very good episode.
First there was Lynette and Tom finding out about Porter’s affair with the older woman. I am so glad that Desperate Housewives didn’t go down the road of Lynette thinking Tom was cheating on her since that storyline has been done over and over. I personally think this storyline should be pretty interesting for quite a while.
Meanwhile on Wisteria Lane, Gaby and Carlos are being stalked by Carlos’ client. I don’t know if it is just me but that old woman is quite creepy and at least a little mentally unstable. Susan and Jackson get to know one another better. This storyline wasn’t that interesting in my opinion and was probably the lowlife of the episode. Bree and Orson were caught on spy camera and had to deal with a sex tape. I thought this storyline was pretty entertaining especially when Bree told Andrew that he was allowed to do anything in order to get the tape back.
We also found out that Katherine and Mike are together. I don’t know what to really think about the relationship except that it actually gives the two characters a storyline which both have seriously been lacking this season. Finally McClusky and her sister dug up some more dirt on Dave. I guess Dave is criminally insane and he must not be cured since his psychiatrist rushed to Wisteria Lane as soon as he found out that Dave was there.
Quotes:
Lynette (while suspecting Tom of cheating): “I am going to kill you now.”
Lynette (to Porter): “You’re having sex with you best friend’s mother.”
Bree: “Your more than like fired, you’re fired.”
Orson: “We now know where 2 pounds of cookie dough went.”
Carlos (to Gaby): “Sure you don’t want margarita #12?”
Gaby: “Say you have some blind thing to do.”
Orson (when telling Andrew what he can do to get the sex tape back): “We are not condoning arson.”
Susan: “I am easier than a five year old’s homework.”
Family Guy S7.E5 The Man with Two Brians
Overall I was disappointed by last night’s episode of Family Guy. I just didn’t think it was that funny. There were a couple laughs spread out over the episode but I definently wouldn’t consider last night’s a great episode of Family Guy. I actually thought the idea of “New” Brian would actually be pretty funny but it really didn’t bring many laughs to the episode. One thing I want to know is why the Griffith’s can’t realize that Stewie is a very disturbed baby. This week he only killed New Brian and yet no one bats an eye.
Quotes:
Peter: “I hate you bees.”
Peter: “Your going to get along better than Abraham Lincoln and his neighbor.”
“New” Brian (to Meg): “I am going to make you a little less gross each day.”
Stewie: “New Brian is such a tool.”
The Simpsons S20.E5 Dangerous Curves
Overall a solid but unspectacular episode of the Simpsons. While the episode wasn’t that funny, I thought it was interesting to see more of Homer and Marge’s past. While the main storyline wasn’t that funny, two moments stood out as pretty funny in my opinion. The first was Bart’s video game where he killed beloved shildren’s cereal mascots. The other funny moments came from Lisa and Bart acting like an old married couple.
Quotes:
Homer: “No one shuts out my blather.”
Homer (about Ned): “I love this guy.”
Homer: “I now pronounce us just dating.”
Bart: “I’m cucko for killing stuff.”
Homer: “I’m trying to get me drunk.”
Ned: “That’s just your trouser devil talking.”
Marge: “I don’t want to sleep in the same room as that box.”
Homer: “I hate other people’s love.”
What are you ranting and raving about today?

I work with these dogs and as far as animal behavior goes, I’m a solid believer in nurture and instruction. I’ve met Jack Russell Terriers that I wouldn’t go near again, but have never had a bad knowledge with an American Staffordshire Terrier. If you are speaking about their owners- nicely, that’s a different story. People are creatures as well, and we tend to every have our unique suggestions about “moral concepts”.
