S3.E12 “Earth, Wind and… Wait for It” (1/23/09): Shawn and Gus investigate a group of fires. At each fire some burned up bodies are found that were all killed 10 years earlier. All the murder victims were arsonists ten years earlier and were responsible for the death of two firefighters. It turns out that a current firefighter/building inspector killed the arsonists 10 years earlier and then had to burn down the building in order to get rid of all the evidence that implicated him for the murders. S3.E11 “Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing” (1/16/09): After Lassiter becomes the top suspect in the murder of a prisoner at the police station, Shawn and Gus set out to prove Lassiter didn’t do it. Lassiter ends up not being the real killer. The real killer is a fellow cop that became a dirty cop that worked for the gang that the killed prisoner was a part of. Eric’s Thoughts
S3.E10 “Six Feet Under the Sea” (1/9/09): Shawn and Gus investigate the murder of a local celebrity sea lion named Shabby. Through investigating the case they determine that there is more to the case than a murder of a sea lion. It turns out that Shabby was killed because he got in the way of two men that were diving for stolen diamond that sunk to the bottom of the water after a plane crash. Outside the case, Shawn finds out that Jules has some feelings for him. Eric’s Thoughts
S3.E9 “Christmas Joy” (11/28/08): Shawn and Gus help a little girl get a mall Santa out of jail before realizing that both of them are con men who have a score planned. The two, along with Gus’ sister joy (Shawn once had a fling with her and Gus has no idea), try to figure out what Santa and the girl have planned. With Joy’s help, they figure out that they are planning to rob empty houses on Christmas Eve. A security guard (who was in on the plan) is found dead but the Santa insists it wasn’t him. In the end, it turns out that there is a third partner who did the killing. At the Gusters Christmas party, Joy comes clean to the family about her one-time relationship with Shawn. Gus and his parents are mad at Shawn for awhile but eventually forgive him.
S3.E8 Gus Walks Into A Bank (9/12/1008): Full Episode Recap. In this episode Shawn and Gus become hostages in a bank robbery. It turns out not to be a bank robbery though since the bank robber was forced into robbing the bank since his wife was kidnapped. Shawn ends up solving the case and everyone gets out of the bank safely.
S3.E7 Talk Derby To Me (9/5/2008): Full Episode Recap. In this case Shawn and Gus investigate a jewelry store theft. The theft leads to a woman’s roller derby team where Juliet goes undercover to find out who is responsible. They catch the thieves who were actually stealing identities instead of jewels.
S3.E6 There Might Be Blood (8/22/2008): Full Episode Recap. In this case Shawn and Gus help Karen and her sister solve a murder on a oil drilling platform which was originally determined to be an accident. It turns out that the drilling platform owner’s daughter killed the man because he was going to go to the authorities and shut down the drilling platform.
S3.E5 Disco Didn’t Die, It Was Murdered (8/15/2008): Full Episode Recap. In this case Shawn and Gus help Henry solve a case that he had supposedly solved in 1978. It turns out that Henry actually arrested the wrong man since two other members of the group that the arrested man belonged too actually set him up for the bombing.
S3.E4 The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable (8/8/2008): Full Episode Recap. Shawn and Gus go on a treasure hunt with Shawn’s uncle. While there doesn’t seem to be a treasure at first there is actually a treasure that they end up finding. They get entangled with the police and another group searching for the treasure.
S3.E3 Daredevils! (8/1/2008): Full Episode Recap. Shawn and Gus help out one of Shawn’s childhood heroes (a daredevil). It seems like someone is trying to kill the daredevil during his stunts. Shawn and Gus eventually discover that the daredevil is trying to kill himself since he has a terminal disease and he wanted his family to get an insurance payout. Shawn talks him out of killing himself.
