Season Three
S3.E13 “Dual” (12/15/08): Sylar took Noah, Claire, Angela, and Meredith hostage at Primatech to show them that they are monsters just like him. He plays games with them and even tries to get Claire to shoot Angela to save herself. Noah releases the Level 5 prisoners to act as bait. Many of them die and Meredith is injected with adrenaline. This causes her fire power to get out of control. Sylar puts her in level 5 and tricks Noah into getting in the cell with her. He gives him a gun with one bullet so he can either kill Meredith or die with her when her power explodes. Sylar shows Claire the predicament he put Noah and Meredith into and she heads to level 5 to help. Claire breaks through the window in the cell freeing Noah. Meredith is too far gone and stays in the cell. Meanwhile, Sylar abducts Angela and uses his lie-detector power to find out she isn’t his real mother. She does, however, know who his real parents are. Claire comes from behind and stabs Sylar in the back of the head with a piece of glass (this eliminates his healing power and he dies). Claire, Angela, and Noah get out of Primatech just as Meredith explodes, destroying the building.
After Hiro got stuck in the past in the previous episode, Ando, Daphne, and Matt try to figure out how to save him. Daphne decides to steal Mohinder’s formula and does. Ando injects himself with it, hoping that he will get the same power as Hiro had. However, he winds up with a power that supercharges the powers of other heroes. Daphne uses Ando’s supercharge to run so fast that she goes back in time. She saves Hiro then takes him to Arthur’s safe to destroy the formula.
Peter allies with Knox and Flint to destroy the formula at Pinehurst. At one point, Tracy freezes Knox and makes his body shatter. Nathan fires Tracy. Tracy takes the formula but Hiro and Daphne steal it back from her. Mohinder’s condition improves when the main tank of formula spills on him. Peter injects himself with some of the formula then flies out of the lab with Nathan before it explodes. Mohinder gets out as well and Tracy wants him on her team.
The beginning of volume 4 (”Fugitives”) begins three weeks later. Nathan meets with someone and tells him they need to get the U.S. government involved. He gives him information on all of the heroes he knows and tells him that they are dangerous and need to be rounded up. Nathan leaves and addresses the man as “Mr. President.”
