Growing up during the late 80s’ through the 90s’, I grew up during the time that Power Rangers was a children’s hit series. For some reason I was never much of a Power Rangers fan. As a matter of fact I don’t know if I ever even watched an episode of Power Rangers. I was a Ninja Turtles fan. After getting this dvd in the mail, I have to say that I am still not much of a fan of the Power Rangers.
Power Rangers RPM is the seventeenth season of Power Rangers. In volume one you receive the first five episodes of the season. In this season the Power Rangers need to try and save the world from the Venjix Computer Network. The Venjix Computer Network has unleashed a virus that is starting to take over the world. The Power Rangers are the only thing that is standing between the virus and world domination.
If you can’t tell from the show description, this show is not really for adults. That is mainly the reason why I didn’t think Power Rangers RPM was a very good show. It is just too simplistic and childish for adults to enjoy unless they are big Power Rangers’ fans. If that doesn’t describe you, you should stay away from Power Rangers RPM.
The real audience for this dvd is children. I don’t really know how popular Power Rangers is now days but I think children should enjoy Power Rangers RPM. Boys should enjoy the dvd while I don’t think many girls will enjoy it.
While I am not a huge fan of releasing tv sets in volume formats, in this case it is probably a good idea. With the first five episodes included in this dvd set, if you are a parent you can see whether your child enjoys the show instead of purchasing a full season of the show which would cost quite a bit more. If your child enjoys the dvd you can pick up the second volume which comes out in a couple months.
Overall Power Ranger RPM was not for me. I have never been much of a Power Ranger fan so that isn’t much of a surprise. This dvd is not really for adults since it is a little too childish for most adults to get much enjoyment out of the show. Fans of the franchise or children should get some enjoyment out of this dvd so I would recommend purchases for those groups.
