Lost S5.E11 Whatever Happened, Happened
The character centric episodes continued again this week. This week focused on Kate and Aaron. Once again we got quite a few answers. Even though I am glad that we got some answers, I have to say I am glad that the character centric episodes are gone. Character centric episodes were great the first couple of seasons but I don’t think they are necessary anymore. The good news is that it seems like we are back to the island for good.
Overall I thought this week’s episode wasn’t bad but not the best either. For once the episode was quite self explanatory. No big shockers but solid resolutions to some questions Lost fans have had for quite some time.
Kate giving Aaron to his grandmother didn’t come as any surprise to me. Who else would she have given him to? I question Kate’s reasoning though. I doubt Kate went back to the island to find Claire. I have a feeling that Kate felt guilty for taking Aaron and for some reason decided to go back to the island.
Meanwhile Ben’s storyline was actually pretty interesting. I obviously knew Ben wouldn’t die and I thought it would lead to him becoming an Other. Well it appears that even though Sayid wanted to stop Ben from becoming an Other, he helped him become an Other even earlier.
I have to say it was kind of creepy when Richard brought Ben into the temple. I want to know why Ben would lose his memory and his innocence if Richard healed him. I am guessing the memory is a convenient excuse to have Ben forget about meeting the gang back in the past. I am guessing that getting shot will eventually lead to Ben becoming the Other’s leader.
One final thought on the episode:
- Highlight of the night had to be when Hurley and Miles talked about the time traveling. The scenes were hilarious especially since it brought out how wacky the time traveling storyline has become. It also brought up a good point on how Ben doesn’t recognize them. Finally is it just me or does Hurley look ridiculous in his Dharma jumpsuit.
So next week we will finally get to see what is going on with Ben, Locke, Frank, and Sun. Ben appears to be sorry for what he has done in the past (I doubt it though). I wonder what being judged by the island actually means? I am guessing that doesn’t mean Ben is going to die since I can’t see Lost getting rid of Ben until the final season. Plus we will get to see how Ben ended up in his beaten state. I have a bad feeling about Desmond, Penny, and/or Little Charlie.
