In this week’s case the gang tries to bring a fertilizer CEO to justice after his product killed a little girl. In order to get what they need to bring down the CEO, the gang breaks into his office. Sophie distracts the guards while the rest of the gang breaks into the CEO’s office. This is made harder when the gang has to walk up several flights of stairs when Hardison ends up not showing up for the heist (more on this later). While snooping around the office they find out that the CEO is getting rid of all the evidence that can indite him on a plane.
The gang ends up getting on the plane. While on the plane they look for the evidence that the CEO is trying to get rid off. It turns out to actually be a person instead of files. The CEO actually hired someone to kill an accountant that found suspicious information on the company. The CEO really wants the accountant dead so he actually hires someone to hack into the plane to crash it. The gang (Hardison in particular) save the day though and they are able to successfully land the plane on a highway. For saving her life the accountant agrees to testify against the CEO.
Just to get the negative out of the way right away this week’s case was disappointing. This week’s case wasn’t that original and it just didn’t have the payoff that other cases have had. Combine that with the pretty poor plane special effects and you would have thought that this week’s episode was a disappointment. It was far from a disappointment though. This is due to the great characters on Leverage.
We’ll begin with the hero of the episode, Hardison. Hardison has always been my favorite character on the show and yesterday’s episode cemented that. With the whole breaking into the office, pretending to be an employee, calling a meeting (at a company he doesn’t even work for), running a meeting (again at a company he doesn’t work for), having his co-workers throw him a birthday party, and finally fake being fired; you have to admit that Hardison was the star of the episode. Add to that the fact that he missed the first heist because he was playing World of Warcraft. Hardison has to be the coolest geek in television history.
While Hardison was the star of the episode, Parker was definently a close second. Parker has to be the worst flight attendant ever. Her warning’s (a complete list available at CliqueClack) were hilarious. While Parker is truly a strange woman, you can’t help but love her.
Finally I have to bring up Eliot’s bathroom fight. That was the best bathroom fist fight on an airplane in television history. There might not have been any other bathroom fist fights in television history but if there have been, I doubt they compared to Eliot’s fight. I honestly want to know how Leverage can fit in a great fist fight every episode for Eliot. Most are short and sweet but they are all great.
Quotes:
Alec (after snooping on Nate’s computer): “Damn. Someone needs to get laid.”
Alec: “For the Horde.” (not for you non-World of Warcraft fans)
Sophie: “Can we at least take the diamonds?”
Eliot: “When I knock people out they tend to stay knocked out.”
Alec: “If you were a geek you would be really turned on right now.”
Alec: “Age of the geek.”
