Leverage S1.E12 The First David Job
As I already mentioned in my season finale preview of Leverage, I thought the first and second parts of the Leverage season finale were great. It’s just so amazing how far this series has come in just one season. At first I wasn’t even planning on watching the show. If I hadn’t received a screener I probably would never have even given the show a chance. When I tried it out I liked the show but wondered if it could maintain it’s momentum. Now Leverage has firmly established itself as one of the best shows on television right now. I guess Leverage is the perfect example of why you shouldn’t ride off a show before you try it.
Since I have already seen next week’s episode, I am not going to discuss this week’s episode that much since I don’t want to spoil anything. There are some things that really stood out for me though:
- Hardison scolding Nate for interrupting the art lecture on their next target.
- Parker’s jokes about how easy it is to rob certain locations.
- Elliot unknowingly hitting on Nate’s ex-wife. (This actually comes up again in next week’s episode.)
- It was great to finally see how great of thief Parker truly is. Hopefully Leverage will utilize he skills more next season. Hopefully with a season under the belt, the show can do more complex heists which will utilize more of Parker’s skills.
- Hopefully Leverage further develops Parker and Hardison’s relationship. Parker and Hardison’s reaction to their “makeout session” was priceless. While Hardison seems to have feelings for Parker, Parker thought nothing of their “makeout session”. While both characters are a little quirky, I think they would make a good couple.
- It’s just amazing that Hardison can just create a character and pretty much get anyone to do anything he wants by bringing up the race card.
- Finally I liked how the team started to use each other’s skills in order to get away from Sterling’s men. Hopefully this will be further utilized next season.
Next week’s episode is the last episode of the season. I have already seen the episode and I have to say that it is just as great as tonight’s episode. With the team on the run and Nate still needing his revenge, next week’s episode is a must see episode.
