Well you know the economy must be bad when our economic troubles seem to make it into every single show on television. While I thought How I Met Your Mother might be immune to the arbitrary bad economy storyline, I was obviously wrong. While this week’s episode was a little bit of a disappointment after several strong episodes in a row, this episode showed once again that Robin’s Canadian past is always good for a few good laughs.
The main storyline this week was solid but a little disappointing. You do have to give it up to Marshall and Barney for their convincing lie though that made Ted feel like he was still being employed. I want to know how Marshall actually kept the secret though since he is far from a good liar. I also thought the firing room scenes were pretty funny but I do question why the firing room had an unnecessary chair that was right there to be broken across the bosses back. You would think they would have taken the chair out of the room after the first time it happened.
While it turned out to be the subplot, Robin’s celebrity sex story was the highlight of the episode. I personally can never get enough of Robin’s Canadian storylines. I personally am hoping for another Robin Sparkles video and the gang’s eventual trip to Canada to meet Robin’s parents.
Your Take: What were your thoughts on this week’s How I Met Your Mother?
