Heroes S3.E20 Cold Snap

Well I have to admit that I was waiting for this episode for quite some time. While it was sad to see Pushing Daisies get canceled it did allow Bryan Fuller to return to Heroes and hopefully turn the series around. Finally the episodes that Bryan Fuller had a say in are finally upon us and if this week’s episode is any indication things appear to be going in the right direction.

I can’t believe I am about to say this but it appears like Heroes finally killed someone off and it’s actually going to stick (this is Heroes though so you never know). Since I have wanted Tracy killed off for quite some time I can’t say that I am disappointed that the show finally killed her off. In my opinion they should never have brought back Ali Larter as Tracy anyway. I never liked the character and I can’t say I am sad to see her go. Daphne on the other hand I was kind of sad to see go. Heroes really needs to trim the cast though if Heroes wants a chance to redeem itself.

If actually killing off some characters wasn’t enough to take the show in the right direction; I also liked the Hiro/Ando/Matt Jr. storyline. While I still think Hiro needs to grow up some, I like that Hiro is starting to get back to what he was like in season one. I also like that Heroes decided to give Hiro part of his ability back. The time traveling power got out of hand but Hiro needed a power so I don’t mind them giving Hiro the ability to stop time. Now Hiro can actually be more than just a sidekick. Maybe the Hiro and Ando adventures of season one can now return. I know I have missed them.

The other big reveal of the episode was Micah being Rebel. I have to say that I am not that surprised but I am happy with the decision. I always liked Micah and I am glad that he appears to be back (at least in a recurring role). It’s too bad that this was spoiled for me by the opening credits. It always sucks when you recognize a recurring cast members name in the opening credits since it always gives you an idea of what might or will happen in the episode. I guess I should just not look at the opening credits anymore.

Your Take: So what are your thoughts on this week’s episode? Now that Bryan Fuller is back in the fold do you think Heroes is headed in the right direction? Are you upset about either of the deaths in last night’s episode? Do you like Micah being Rebel?
