This week’s Grey’s Anatomy was the end of sorts. Storylines wrapped up. A hated storyline might be finally on it’s last legs. You would think that I would actually be pretty excited about last night’s episode. Surprisingly I am not though. It’s just another episode in an ever growing pile of disappointing Grey’s Anatomy episodes.

Life and Death: This week’s biggest storyline focused on what doctors should be able to do in order to save a life. While Bailey’s patient is dying without an organ transplant, the serial killer is trying to kill himself. When Derek finds out about the killer’s plan he wants nothing to do with it. He won’t let the killer die on his watch. Bailey tries to talk him out of saving the killer but she eventually backs down. The young kid is about to die but in the very last moment he gets the needed transplant from a car crash victim. The serial killer returns to prison and is executed.

When I first heard about a serial killer coming to Seattle Grace, I was intrigued by the storyline. I thought it could provide a unique storyline that could have really gotten Grey’s Anatomy out of it’s slump. It’s too bad that the storyline never lived up to my expectations. It’s wasn’t a terrible storyline but I think Grey’s Anatomy could have done so much more with it.

Denny Reveals His True Intentions: After being long overdue we finally find out why Denny is back in Izzie’s life. It appears that Denny “came back” in order to warn Izzie that there is something medically wrong with her. Izzie doesn’t believe it at first but when she realizes that it is the truth, she is so upset that she demands that Denny leave her alone.

Like almost every other Grey’s Anatomy fan, I have hated this storyline since day one. I loved Denny in season two but this season has pretty much destroyed the character for good. I honestly want to know what the Grey’s Anatomy writers were thinking with this storyline. Well the good news is that it appears to be reaching it’s end. While Denny’s return representing Izzie being ill redeems the storyline a little (very very little), I can’t wait till the storyline is finally over. Maybe Grey’s Anatomy can then get back to some good storylines and Jeffrey Dean Morgan can actually get a good television role.

Mark’s “Injury”: In what I was hoping would be the comic relief of the episode, Mark ends up breaking “It” while having sex with Lexie. I had high hopes for this storyline. With Mark’s personality and the fact that he has been the comic relief as of late, I thought the storyline would have been funny. Instead it was just another storyline that didn’t live up to it’s potential. Also I still think Mark and Lexie’s relationship is creepy even though a lot of Grey’s Anatomy fans will probably disagree with me.

Christina and Owen: After their terrible first date, Christina decides to give Owen a second chance at a first date. While I liked the relationship at first, I am quickly getting sick of the storyline. I don’t mind the idea of the two together but I am sick and tired of how slow things are moving. Come on Grey’s Anatomy, pick up the pace a little bit.

Quotes:

Lexie: “He’s hurt in a way that’s bad for any man.”

Sloane: “Little Grey. I don’t want you to see me like this.”

Your Thoughts: What were your thoughts on the serial killer storyline? Are you glad that the Denny storyline appears to be coming to an end? Are you getting as annoyed as I am waiting for something to actually happen with the Christina/Owen relationship?
