A Serial Killer’s Change of Heart: In a continuation of last week’s story, Bailey and Arizona try to find a transplant for their young patient. They end up getting some organs and they give the child a transplant. The transplant doesn’t take though so the child has only 24 hours to live since without functioning organs the child can’t survive.
Meanwhile the serial killer tries to get the doctors to just let him die but Derek won’t let him. Derek ends up saving his life by giving him a last minute surgery. When the young boy takes a turn for the worse though, the serial killer asks Meredith to just let him die so he can give his organ’s to the boy (since he is going to die in a couple days anyway). Meredith feels sorry for the serial killer and also wants to save the child so she ends up telling the serial killer how he can worsen his condition so he can’t be saved and can give his organs to the child.
Overall this storyline has been pretty good in my opinion. I still think the serial killer storyline could have been better but it has still been a pretty interesting storyline.
Derek’s Mother Comes to Town: Derek’s mother ends up coming to town. Meredith is obviously nervous and Izzie tries to give her some pointers on how to impress her. Eventually Meredith can’t keep up her facade and ends up telling Derek’s mother what she is truly like. Obviously Derek’s mother appreciates the honesty since she ends up giving Derek her wedding ring and tells him that Derek needs Meredith in his life.
Well I think Derek and Meredith’s relationship is going to take the next step pretty soon. I wouldn’t be shocked if there isn’t an engagement in the next couple of weeks.
Owen and Christina’s First Date: Owen eventually asks Christina out on a date and Christina ends up accepting. The date doesn’t go well though since Owen ends up showing up at Christina’s drunk. It appears that Owen is having a hard time getting over what he experienced in Iraq. Things aren’t going great for the relationship right now but I hope the show plans on pursuing the relationship. I think Christina and Owen would make a good couple.
The Short Man: Sloane and Callie end up working on a patient who underwent an experimental surgery in order to gain two inches in height. He thought being short was ruining his life. The procedure didn’t work though and his legs are so infected that Callie and Sloan need to rush him into surgery. In order to save him they actually need to take out even more of his leg bone so he ends up actually being shorter than he originally was. The man is upset that he is still short but his brother gets him to realize to just get over it.
Izzie Breaks Up With Denny: All I can say is it’s about time. Izzie decides to forget about Denny in order to focus on Alex. It’s good that it appears that we will finally find out what brought “ghost Denny” back. My guess is that Izzie is suffereing from some medical condition that is making her see Denny. Hopefully this can finally be resolved so Denny can go back to rest for good this time.
Sloane and Lexie: When the relationship between Sloane and Lexie was first developed, I definently was not a fan of it. While I still think the relationship is creepy, it isn’t as bad as it once was.
Quotes:
George: “My mom’s house smells like Peppermint.”
Denny: “That’s just scary.”
Denny: “That’s one of the perks of dating a dead guy.”
Izzie: “I think you and the pig murderer will have a great date.”
Lexie: “You sleep with me. You eat with me.”
Sloane (telling Derek’s mom who he is sleeping with): “The one with the juice box.”
