Grey’s Anatomy S5.E16 An Honest Mistake: ![]()
With this week’s episode the Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice crossover was concluded. Overall the crossover was pretty good and obviously ABC must think it was a success since it did wonders for Private Practice’s ratings. It’s too bad that Addison probably won’t be returning to Grey’s Anatomy at least for a while. While Private Practice has gotten a little better since the first season, I still miss Addison on Grey’s Anatomy.
The Fight: Other than the crossover ending, this week was the Sloane/Derek confrontation. ABC really promoted the fight and I have to say that there really wasn’t much to it. Obviously Derek misdirected some of his anger at Sloane which resulted in the fight. I do have to admit that both are quite good at a fist fight being doctors after all. The fight was pretty childish though and once again showed why Grey’s Anatomy has got to be the most unrealistic hospital in the land of television. While this isn’t always a problem, at times it can definitely get out of hand.
The Doctor Who Should Have Retired: Overall I thought this storyline was pretty interesting. I am getting a little cautious about Christina’s and Owen’s relationship. I seriously want to know why the show can’t seem to do anything with the relationship. Obviously Owen has feelings for Christina but who knows about Christina. I don’t mind dragging out a relationship but this is getting ridiculous.
Bailey’s Recommendation Letters: First off Bailey’s new hairstyle is kind of distracting. Other than that I think this storyline was decent. It was also another example of how much the writer’s/Shonda Rhymes must hate George though. Why can’t the show give him a storyline for once. Last week he had about two lines about the stupid intern Olympics and this week he gets to write a recommendation letter for Bailey. I wonder what meaningless thing he gets to do next week. I will be sad to see George go but at this point I am all in T.R. Knight’s corner. If the show isn’t going to actually give him any meaningful scenes or storylines you should just let him go so he can actually do something with his life.
Izzie’s Diagnosis: The sooner Izzie is gone the better at this point. Unlike George I am glad that Izzie is supposedly going to be written off/killed at the end of this season. While I thought her storyline in season two with Denny was great, Izzie has been pointless and very annoying ever since. I just hope we don’t have to see anymore stupid Ghost Denny.
Callie and Arizona: At this point I have really don’t care too much about this relationship. Arizona is pretty boring and annoying so even if the relationship takes off I would prefer it be a pretty brief relationship.
Your Take: What did you think of the Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice crossover as a whole? Do you wish that Addison would just come back to Grey’s Anatomy for good? Was the fight a joke or did you actually think it was a good idea? Why do you think Grey’s Anatomy has essentially given T.R. Knight/George the coldshoulder as far as storylines the last two years? Are you glad that Izzie most likely won’t be coming back to Seattle Grace after this season? Do you have any feeling about Christine/Owen or Callie/Arizona?
