After a pretty long break Greek has finally returned. While I thought the episode could have been funnier given that it was Greek Week, I still thought it was a solid episode overall. I wish the episode would have focussed a little more on Greek Week though since I think there was the opportunity for some really funny moments that were missed out on. One thing I wonder about though is if the whole second season of the show will focus on the second half of Rusty’s first year on campus. Shows like this typically go to the next year after every season but it appears that Greek isn’t going to. This is actually a pretty good idea in my opinion since I think the show will essentially be dead if it ever went past the characters college days. I guess I will now get onto the recap for those of you who missed the episode.
Ralvin (Rusty + Calvin)
It’s Greek Week at campus. Rusty and Calvin know this week will challenge their friendship since fraternities get really competitive during Greek Week. Whenever Rusty and Calvin try to go to a movie together there fraternities get in the way since they don’t want their pledge working with the enemy. Rusty and Calvin decide to lie low with their friendship until Greek Week is over. When Evan’s cheerleading group (one of the Greek Week games) steals Cappie’s cheer, Cappie thinks Rusty let something slip to Calvin. Rusty denies it but Cappie decides to pull Rusty from the games. It turns out that the cheer was actually in a famous cheerleading movie so Rusty and Calvin obviously didn’t leak it to Evan. Rusty tells Cappie this and also that he is sick of him telling him who can and can’t be his friend. Cappie realizes that he made a mistake and agrees to let Rusty hang out with Calvin. It turns out that the rivalry was actually pretty pointless since neither fraternity ended up winning the competition (ZBZ did win though).
Rebecca the Wild Child
A video of Rebecca’s summer break fiasco gets leaked on the internet and Rebecca pretty much becomes the laughing stock of campus. She pretends to not care about what people are saying but she does. Cappie and Casey tell Rebecca that as long as she lays low everything will blow over. Casey and the ZBZ’s give Rebecca a punishment of community service for her actions and warn her not to step out of line again. Rebecca doesn’t listen though since she is arrested by campus police when she disturbs an alumni diner in a druken state. If that wasn’t enough Rebecca ends up beating up a girl at the powder puff football game after she taunts her from the sideline. Casey has had enough and suspends Rebecca from all sorority activities.
Tegan returns to town and offers her and national’s support in kicking Rebecca out of the sorority. Casey decides to keep Rebecca though since she thinks Rebecca needs there help getting through her current problems. Rebecca doesn’t think she needs their help at first but she realizes that she does. Tegan lets Rebecca come back to the sorority but if she messes up again Casey will lose her president’s job.
Frannie and Evan
Frannie and Evan’s relationship has taken the next step since spring break. they are now sleeping together. Frannie wants Evan to stay quiet about their relationship until she is able to tell Casey. She blows that opportunity though when Casey sees them kissing at the Greek Week awards ceremony.
