Dan and Serena
Dan and Serena have to decide on how they are going to announce to the world that they are back together. They don’t get to really plan anything though since a girl on the street gets a picture of them together and everyone finds out about them. Jenny and Rufus are happy about it while Blair isn’t so happy. Blair thinks that Serena is taking things too fast with Dan and tells her that she and Dan needs to talk through their issues that lead to the first breakup.
Dan and Serena are walking through the park when they are met by a group of girls who are way too obsessed with Gossip Girl. The girls are actually split on their relationship and they end up bringing up all the reasons why Dan and Serena broke up in the first place. Dan and Serena head to a party that Blair is holding. They end up getting stuck in the elevator together when the city experiences a blackout. Dan and Serena fight about Serena’s money and fame again. They both finally realize that they keep having the same fight and they can’t be together until they work that out. They decide to break up once again since they think they will never get over that issue. It is obvious that they still love one another though.
Blair, Marcus, and Chuck
Blair and Marcus kiss and Blair wants to take things to the next level but Marcus doesn’t want to. Blair doesn’t know why Marcus doesn’t find her attractive and want to sleep with her. Meanwhile Chuck is having his own troubles with the ladies since he hasn’t been able to sleep with any other ladies since he fell in love with Blair. At the party Chuck tries to turn Blair on in order to get her to sleep with him but it doesn’t work. At the party Blair talks with Catherine and insults her about her cheating with Nate. Catherine tells Blair that she will have to do the same with Marcus since he won’t please her and she will end up having to go elsewhere for her pleasures.
Blair tries to prove Catherine wrong and tells Marcus to join her in her room. Marcus doesn’t seem to be interested. Blair waits in her room when Chuck comes into the room. Chuck pretends to be Marcus and they kiss for a while. Marcus heads up to the room a little later and sees them together. He is hurt and Blair tries to explain herself. She tells Marcus that she just wants him to show some passion for her. He ends up punching Chuck in the face and then kisses Blair. Chuck goes home defeated but he still hasn’t gotten over his ladies problem.
Nate, Vanessa, and Catherine
Nate has used up all his money that Catherine gave him during their last meeting. Catherine reassures Nate that he will get more money as long as he stays with her. Nate then gets a call from Vanessa. Vanessa and Nate go out on a date and they really enjoy themselves. Catherine got suspicious though and actually spied on them during their date and she is far from happy. Nate decides to try and break things off with Catherine. Nate gets Chuck to lend him some money.
Nate ends up asking Vanessa to Blair’s party. When he finds out that Catherine is coming to the party he calls Vanessa and cancels their date. Rufus convinces Vanessa to head to the party anyway in order to surprise Nate. At the party Catherine and Vanessa find out about one another. Vanessa is upset with Nate until he explains everything to her. Vanessa agrees to forgive him as long as he breaks things off with Catherine.
Catherine ends up confronting Vanessa and tells her that if Nate breaks up with her that she will tell the authorities where Nate’s dad is hiding out. Vanessa decides that she can’t let Nate let this happen so she breaks things off with Nate so he has no choice but to stay with Catherine. Vanessa is hurt by the decision though since she truly cares about Nate.
Jenny
Jenny continues to be pushed around at work. Jenny comes up with some ideas to improve one of Elenore’s dresses but no one is willing to listen to her ideas. When Elenore finds out about Jenny’s suggestions she decides to fire Jenny since she thinks she is a traitor and she can’t trust her since she can’t stand anyone who questions her authority. Because of the blackout, Jenny gets stuck in the fashion studio with Elenore and to pass the time they actually go over some of Elenore’s designs. Elenore quickly recognizes Jenny’s talent and actually has her help with some designs. When the power goes back on Elenore decides to rehire Jenny since she realizes that she could really use Jenny’s help for some of her designs.
