Gossip Girl: Never Been Marcused (September 8th, 2008)

Dan and Serena

Dan and Serena wake up the next morning after spending the night together on the beach. Serena is having some second thoughts though. She is confused about just what happened and she just wants to take things slowly. Dan and Serena decide to spend some time apart but that doesn’t last long since they both take the same bus back to town. On the way back to New York there is a bunch of sexual tension between Dan and Serena. They decide to not hold back any longer and they end up doing “it” in the bus bathroom. Dan and Serena decide to stop fighting the feelings and decide to get back together for good.

Blair, Marcus and Chuck

Blair and Marcus go for a bike ride. They talk about the fall and Marcus tells Blair that she is willing to go back to the city with her. Blair asks Marcus about his family and Marcus avoids the question. Blair takes this as him not wanting his parents to meet her. Meanwhile Chuck has decided to befriend Marcus in order to get some dirt on him so he can win Blair back.

We then see Marcus talking with his mother who just so happens to be Catherine (she is actually his stepmother). Blair decides to throw a party in order to show Marcus that she is worthy of possibly becoming royalty. Chuck and Marcus play some Squash and get to talking about Marcus’ stepmother. Marcus tells Chuck that he doesn’t want Blair to see her since she is very judgmental and rarely likes who he dates. Chuck decides to use these details to his advantage.

Things don’t go so well at Blair’s party. No one has any fun since they are so bored at the party. Chuck ends up crashing the party with Catherine. Blair doesn’t know who Catherine and ends up insulting her. When Catherine tells Blair who she is, Blair regrets what she said. She tries to apologize and in her apology she ends up bringing up all her transgressions over the last year. This hurts Blair’s case even more and Catherine tells Blair that there is no way that Marcus will ever stay with her if she has her way. Blair tries to find Catherine again in order to try and apologize again. She ends up seeing Catherine with Nate. Blair uses this as blackmail in order to get Catherine to accept her and please Marcus.

Nate and Catherine

Nate decides to return home early. Before he leaves his mother warns him that the police and FBI will be there since they are checking out all their possessions since they are planning on taking them unless they give up Howie. Since neither will give him up they will most likely lose most of their possession. Nate’s mother has tried to get some money from her father but he has suddenly cut her off. Catherine meets with Nate before he returns to the city and she tells him that they are going to need to be more clever when they get to the city.

When Nate returns home it is hard to see the FBI searching through all their belongings. The FBI try to get him to turn his father over but he pretends that he doesn’t know where his father is. Chuck ends up selling his shares in his strip club and offers it as a loan to Nate and his mother but Nate refuses to take it. Nate then meets Catherine and tells her about everything that is happening including where his father is currently staying. Catherine offers to help out Nate as much as he can. This essentially turns into Catherine offering Nate money in order to sleep with her. Catherine gives Nate a bunch of money and Nate then has to call up Vanessa and cancel a date that they had planned for that night.

Rufus

Rufus returns home. He heads to the gallery and sees Vanessa who has been running the gallery in his absence and actually added a cafe to it. They talk about the tour and Rufus tells Vanessa how he has missed home. Rufus also liked the tour as well though so he is upset that he had to give it up. Rufus actually thinks about having another tour but when he sees how much he missed of his child’s lives during the summer he decides to stay home for good.
