U.S.S. Hornet (Alameda, California): The place is 900 feet long so the team is huge. Along with the usual five, Joe, Kristyn, Amy Bruni from a west coast branch of TAPS, and Eureka’s Colin Ferguson join the team. The battleship has reports of footsteps, voices, and apparitions.
Jason, Grant, and Colin start off in the kitchen. Jason gets a small thermal hit but this is never brought up again so it must have been nothing. A chain nearby moves by itself. Jason thought he saw a shadow run down there. The three later hear footsteps and feel cold. The K2 meter starts going off to their questions. If the K2 meter is to be believed, the entity is male and works in the kitchen. He can see them and reports that there are 6 men there.
Kris and Amy check out the kitchen next. Both hear loud footsteps in the mess hall then when they go there to investigate, they hear something in the kitchen. Kris hears a very clear deep breath near her. Jason and Grant head up to the auxiliary control room and get a shadow right off the bat. They follow it and hear footsteps along the way.
Steve, Tango, and Colin check out the sickbay. Steve hears movement and everybody hears footsteps. Jason and Grant head here next and get a thermal hit. They try to follow it and get two more thermal hits before their battery drains.
While Joe and Kristyn are investigating the mess hall, Jason and Grant see a light nearby while they are checking the monitors in command central. The light moves up and down. Kristyn tells them that she thought she saw a light there too. Steve and Tango head to the mess hall and hear more noises. Steve hears movement behind him that sounded like fabric rubbing together.
Evidence: Along with too many personal experiences to count, Steve noise in the sickbay was picked up. It sounds like a deep voice but it’s hard to tell what it’s saying. The footsteps Jason and Grant heard as they were chasing the shadow in the auxiliary control room were picked up. They are very clear and quite creepy. One other odd audio clip was picked up but it’s impossible to tell what it was saying. The thermal hit Jason and Grant got is also presented and it might be one of the most amazing pieces of evidence TAPS has caught yet. They caught a complete figure that moves past a doorway. The second thermal hit in this sequence wasn’t much, just a blob really. In the end, it’s easy for Jason and Grant to say there is paranormal activity happening.
Just left the U.S.S. Hornet for an overnighter with our Cub Scout Pack, couldn’t sleep so I got up to do the fire watch with my husband who was already up and we went up to the hangar to get a coffee out of the vending machine at about 5:45am, the whole hangar was dark but the vending machines lit up the alcove we were in, and when I sat at the table with my husband, I asked my husband, so where are all these spirits they say are here and just then the food vending machine rotated once inside the machine, and my husband said, “you mean like that?” We sat there for about 5 more minutes just talking and drinking our coffee and it didn’t do it again. One more thing was that we both fully charged our phones before entering the ship because I have to be in contact with our business, and when we left the ship I wondered why my phone wouldn’t work, it was completely drained and so was my husbands. I thought if we did experience anything there I would be a little scareed, but actually only had really good feelings there, never ill at ease.
