Ghost Hunters S4.E20 “Bottled Spirits” (October 15, 2008) Recap and Review

ghosthunters team 300x200 Ghost Hunters S4.E20 Bottled Spirits (October 15, 2008) Recap and Review

Tracy House (Connecticut): A one year old wakes up screaming and sometimes has scratches on his back. There have also been shadows and a door that opens and shuts by itself. Steve and Tango start off in the baby’s room and find no high EMFs at all. Jason and Grant check out the kitchen and find some high EMFs. A cabinet opens and closes by itself and again a few minutes later. The two try to disprove this activity but can’t find any other reasonable explanations. A different cabinet opens a bit later and Grant actually sees this one happen.

Jason and Grant test the bathroom door (the one that opens by itself). Jason thinks he hears something and his flashlight turns off in his hand. It eventually turns itself back on and Grant thinks he sees something run between Jason’s legs. Kris and Tango investigate the kitchen and hear a thump upstairs. They head up but find nothing. Jason and Grant end the night in a bedroom. Footsteps are heard by both.

Evidence: Along with the cabinets and Jason and Grant’s odd experience by the door, three bits of audio were picked up. One is someone grumbling something like “I’m not gonna hurt you.” Another is very loud but words can’t be picked out. Finally, Jason and Grant’s loud footsteps in the bedroom were picked up.

The Winery at Marjim Manor (Appleton, New York): The place has had reports of pictures falling from walls, bottles moving by themselves, and a person in Victorian dress at the base of the stairs.

Jason and Grant start off in the basement but find no high EMFs. They hear some footsteps and other bangs. One is really loud and almost sounds like a golf ball falling onto a hardwood floor. The night is very stormy with a lot of thunderstorms. Jason tells us this is actually a good thing, it sets the right mood and increases energy (and thus activity).

Jason and Grant investigate the base of the stairs. Steve and Tango are in the next room. Grant thinks he hears someone sitting and Steve and Tango’s room tell him something. The odd thing is that neither Steve or Tango heard it. Jason and Grant check the digital recorders and hear a very loud, almost drunk voice. I’m not exactly sure how Steve and Tango could have missed the noise. Jason and Grant head to the chapel next and both see something full-bodied move across a doorway. They then see another figure in a different doorway later.

Evidence: The voice Grant heard was very deep but seemed to be saying “who is there in the house?” During EVP work, Steve and Tango also picked up another voice. This one definitely seemed like a child’s voice and while it was tough to hear, the team thinks it is saying “hello.”

Review: I normally don’t like episodes with two investigations since they usually don’t yield any good evidence. However, both locations had some interesting things happen. The cabinets at the Tracy House definitely can’t be considered concrete evidence (one of the times a car drove by which may have caused it to open) but they were interesting. The deep voice at the winery was the top evidence of the week. The fact that it is so clear could mean it was just a crew member but I doubt it. It also brings up questions. Do Steve and Tango pay attention during these investigations or are they just more skeptical than Jason and Grant and thus see and hear less things?
