As you can tell by just looking at the cover Frank is far form a large budget movie. You can also tell from the cover that this is your typical family movie. While these are generalities, this movie is one of those that you can definently judge based on it’s cover.
A family travels to their summer cabin in order to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The family quickly encounters a wild dog named Frank who is supposedly terrorizing the neighborhood. Frank is loving and playful and actually brings the family closer. The problem is that the family needs to give up Frank at the end of the vacation since their apartment doesn’t allow pets.
As I already mentioned this is a family movie. Being a family movie you can pretty much tell what this movie is going to be about. Actually Frank essentially does nothing new whatsoever. Obviously there are no characters but this movie is so similar to other family movies that it will be hard to tell it apart from other movies. Take a family movie that features a dog and you essentially have Frank.
I guess I wouldn’t say that Frank is a terrible movie but it is deffinently far from original. Couple that with some pretty bad acting (probably due to the low budget) and you can probably tell that this movie is not for everyone. The special features are also nothing special.
So with so many flaws going against the movie I can’t recommend the movie to that many people. I personally thought it was a below average movie. Unless you are a huge fan of kids/family movies or have kids or you own I wouldn’t recommend that you pick up Frank. If either of those describe you though you should get at least some enjoyment out of Frank.
