This week’s episode is the first ever Criss Angel Mindfreak live episode.
Escaping a Building Implosion
Criss Angel’s live stunt is to escape from the Spyglass Hotel before it is imploded (demolished). The stunt involves Criss Angel being handcuffed on the balcony of a sixth floor. After Criss escapes the handcuffs he needs to unlock 3 doors and then one hatch before reaching the ceiling. Criss Angel then needs to get on a helicopter before the building collapses. Criss Angel will have 3 and a half minutes to escape to the helicopter since the helicopter needs 30 seconds in order to get to a safe distance above the hotel. Criss heads through the hotel and shows everyone that the locks are tight. Before the stunt begins we are reminded for the 10th time that the stunt is dangerous (like anyone didn’t think it was). Before the stunt begins it starts raining which makes Criss’ picks slick. Criss picks the handcuffs at around the 3:30 mark (30 seconds have passed). Criss then either can’t pick the first lock or the door just won’t open since he just breaks through the window to get to the next door. Criss picks the second lock at the 2:40 mark. Criss picks the third lock at the 2:00 mark. Criss hits the final door but can’t get it picked in time. Criss goes down with the hotel. Everyone thinks he might have died when he emerges from the rubble alive. As soon as the stunt was announced I knew that Criss would “conveniently” not pick all the locks in time. In all his stunts he pretends that something went wrong when it didn’t. I have no idea what Criss did to survive the collapse but I know that it was preplanned and not a mistake that he went down with the hotel.
Return Trip from Mexico
Criss returns home after a trip from Mexico. A group of fans are there waiting for him. Criss and one of his friends start talking about Criss’ girlfriend and Criss’ friend think he is lying about his girlfriend. Criss decides to show everyone his girlfriend. He puts a bedsheet over his luggage cart. After a few moments he removes the sheet and his girlfriend is standing on the luggage cart. Obviously the trick has something to do with the luggage cart since Criss intentionally tried to avoid the luggage cart until it was needed.
The Vanishing Car
Criss and a bunch of his fans gather at a parking garage. Criss has built a ring with all his cars. Criss then meets with one of his car guys who are there to show him his new car. They guys try to show him his new viper but Criss pretends it is not there. Criss decides to prove his point by putting a sheet over the car. When he removes the sheet the car is gone and is replaced by six women.
