While this wasn’t the best episode of the season I still thought it was a very good episode. Morgan’s storyline was hilarious but Chuck’s was a little disappointing since it wasn’t as funny as it usually are.
Chuck’s storyline mostly dealt with retrieving a data chip that contained sensitive information on all the US secret agents identities. Since Bryce is back in town he goes on the mission with Sara. They pretend to be a married couple that is overly affectionate as they try to retrieve the chip from a computer programmer. This drives Chuck crazy and he ends up messing up the mission. Chuck also is held hostage by a Fulcrum agent. Sara ends up saving Chuck but is put in the hospital due to an explosion. Chuck, Bryce, Casey and Sara end up retrieving the chip but Sara hesitates when she has to shoot the agent holding Chuck hostage. Chuck realizes that he and Sara can’t stay together since it is affecting their job. It is too bad since you can tell that both of them care for one another. It really isn’t that surprising that they eventually had to “break up” since they couldn’t keep their relationship in the current condition. Hopefully before the series finale they finally put them back together and this time for good.
If Bryce didn’t put Chuck through enough already he ends up leaving his sunglasses at Chuck’s apartment. Chuck tries them on and it turns out that Bryce left the sunglasses there in order to give Chuck’s intercept updates. I guess even high tech government technology needs constant updates.
When I heard that Michael Strahan was going to guest star on Chuck all I could think is how in the world is a former football player going to work on Chuck. Why don’t I just say that I was surprised by Strahan’s acting ability. He isn’t a great actor but he does a pretty good job playing a jock. I thought it was hilarious how the Buy More is terrorized by the local sporting good store’s employees. Morgan was scared out of his mind by Strahan and his cohorts. Anna then comes out of nowhere and beats Strahan to a pulp with her karate moves. To top it off Casey brings up how they might have found another field agent.
