Chuck S2.E17 Chuck Versus the Predator

Well you definitely can’t say Chuck is taking things slowly. Chuck once again successfully showed how you can compact a storyline that would usually take a couple episodes into one great episode. While Chuck appears to be going quickly and it is far from assured of a third season, Chuck is showing in these final episodes of season two why it is one of the best series on television.

While rushing things might not sound like a good idea, I have to say that I am enjoying what the minds behind Chuck decided to do. While the show is moving fast, I think the show pretty much had to. Chuck has never been a ratings powerhouse and there was no guarantee that Chuck would get a third season (at this point it is still a bubble show).

Going at this accelerated pace will allow Chuck to give us more answers in case the show isn’t picked up for another season. If Chuck is picked up for a third season I think they can just start actually making Chuck a spy (it’s about time they actually gave him some training isn’t it). Even if Chuck does bring down Fulcrum this season, you can’t tell me that there isn’t another evil organization that can’t try to get their hands on the knowledge inside Chuck’s head. Who knows maybe this organization would be smart enough to actually tell the other members that Chuck is the intersect before being killed or captured.

As far as this episode is concerned some moments that really stood out for me included:

  • The Buy More rivalry that ended up leading towards Big Mike and the gang trashing the Beverly Hills branch. Jeff, Lester and Morgan also almost blew up the Beverly Hills location with a strategically aimed missile.
  • I do have some questions about Jeff’s “office”. I want to know why no one would get suspicious of a toilet that is always out of order. It was pretty cool though despite it being Jeff’s.
  • You know it must be the world of television when not two but three different groups all attempt the same heist at the same time.

Your Take: What is your thoughts on Chuck deciding to cram what seems like seasons into the final episodes of season two? What do you want to happen in season three if Chuck is lucky enough to get another season?
