The 1968 Democratic National Convention will go down in history as an important event in US history. In 1968 a peaceful anti-war group called the Yippies protested at the convention. Things didn’t go well though as police were called in and all the leaders of the group were arrested and brought to trial by the city. Chicago 10 follows the events that lead up to the events and what came out of it.
Since the events in this movie happened over 40 years ago, I wasn’t alive for any of the events portrayed in this movie. I think this really affected my thoughts on this movie. Since I never lived through these events I could never appreciate the movie the same way as people who lived through this time in history. Since I didn’t live through these events I really couldn’t connect with the movie. The movie also failed to entertain me which lead to boredom. You should already tell that I didn’t like the movie. Since this movie wasn’t really for me I will go through the rest of this review from the viewpoint of someone who actually lived through the events and are interested in them.
As you already know Chicago 10 tells the story about the men that were arrested after their protests at the Democratic National Convention. The story of the what happened is told through both archival footage and animation. Overall the majority of the story is told through the archival footage. The animation is mostly used to show what happened in the courtroom since no one was able to film the court proceedings. If you are interested in the events of the 1968 Democratic National Convention I think you should enjoy this movie quite a bit.
The list of actors in this movie are kind of misleading. None of the actors listed actually make an appearance in the movie. They are all just voices. So if you see an actor that you like you need to know that you will only hear their voice and that is it.
The special feature will pretty much disappoint almost everyone. The movie only has one special feature and it is far from special. It is pretty much a remix of the movie with different background music. I wouldn’t really recommend that anyone watch it.
So you already know that I didn’t like the movie since I wasn’t alive for the events so I really don’t have any interest in them. If you are interested in them though and don’t mind a more stylized documentary I think you should look into picking up Chicago 10.

Well my browsing paid off because I discovered your intriguing post while hunting for pages discussing American politics. It’s sort of bothersome that more blogs like this aren’t showing up on page one in the search engine results. I can’t say that I agree with all the post mentioned but it was definitely intriguing. I have added you to my favorite sites. I also have some buddys that will really like this page so I’ll forward them a link to your article as well. I am positive they will like it as well. I operate a small handyman services company in the Houston, Texas area. You could say I am the Houston Handyman. Keep up the good work with your blog.
