Burn Notice S2.E6 Bad Blood (August 14th, 2008)

burn notice bad blood Burn Notice S2.E6 Bad Blood (August 14th, 2008)Overall I thought Bad Blood was a pretty good episode of Burn Notice. I thought the case was pretty good since the show really hasn’t done much with money laundering yet. I also think Victor could be a very interesting character for the future of the show (if they plan on using him for more than this episode). So without further ado lets get to the recap of the episode.

Eddie the Money Launderer

Ricky (the brother of one of Michael’s old friends) shows up and asks Michael for his help. He is working as an accountant for Valentine (a music recording mogul). Ricky is in trouble with Valentine since $2 million recently went missing. Ricky knows Valentine’s partner (Eddie) is stealing money from the company and is framing him. He asks Michael to break into Eddie’s office to get the record keeping books so he can prove that Eddie is stealing the money.

Fiona calls in a bomb scare across the street from Valentine’s headquarters. The bomb squad’s equipment disables all of Valentine’s cameras so Michael sneaks into the office and takes pictures of the files that Ricky needs. Michael shows the info to Ricky and he can’t find anything that proves that Eddie is stealing the money. Michael decides that they will catch Eddie since he must be using a money launderer in order to safely transfer the money he is stealing from Valentine. Michael decides that he will be Eddie’s newest money launderer.

Michael gets a meeting with Eddie and he proposes a real estate deal which he can run his money through to hide it and also earn a profit as well. Eddie is suspicious at first so Michael has to show him the property that he is going to buy (Michael pretends to be interested in the building in order to get access to the building).

Ricky starts panicking when he hears that Valentine is holding an emergency meeting. He thinks Valentine will blame him for stealing the money. Michael tells him to leave his phone on so he can listen in on the conversation and provide support if things go wrong. It turns out that Valentine actually confronts another of his employees that was planning on quitting and stealing several of Valentine’s clients. He deals with the traitor by hitting him in the back of the head with an item. Before the meeting ends Valentine tells Ricky that he needs to find the missing money within two days.

Michael meets with Eddie again and is about to get him to agree to the deal when Victor (see below) interrupts their meeting and tells Michael that the FBI are onto his scam. This scares Eddie off from the deal. Michael decides to roll with the twist and threatens Eddie thinking that he turned him into the FBI. Eddie pleads his case and Michael pretends to believe him. Michael warns Eddie that the FBI must be onto both of them and that they both need to be careful.

Michael meets with Eddie again and he is really starting to panic. He tells Michael that he needs help moving his money out of the country. He also tells Michael that he hired some hitman in order to deal with Ricky (to cover his tracks). Michael agrees to help him move the money. When Eddie leaves Michael tells Fiona about the hitman heading to Ricky’s. She scares them all away when she pretends to be Ricky’s jealous ex girlfriend and causes a big scene (with everyone looking they can’t kill Ricky).

Michael decides that he needs to use the fact that Eddie doesn’t trust Ricky. Michael meets with Eddie and tells him that he thinks Ricky is a FBI informant. He tells Eddie that he (Eddie) has to kill Ricky. Eddie agrees to do it since he thinks that is the only way he can avoid prison. Meanwhile Sam distracts Valentine’s guards while Fiona kidnaps Valentine. Michael drops Eddie off at Ricky’s house and Eddie pulls a gun (provided by Michael) on Ricky. Ricky gets Eddie to admit to embezzling because he wanted a larger piece of the pie. Eddie then pulls the trigger on Ricky and he quickly discovers that the gun only fires blanks. Valentine then comes out from the next room (Fiona and Sam brought him there so he could hear everything Eddie said) and isn’t pleased with Eddie. Valentine takes Eddie on a cruise trip and Eddie all of a sudden has gone missing (obviously Valentine killed him).

The Theft

Michael solves the crossword puzzle that Carla left for him in the office building. The clue in the puzzle leads Michael to the park where he meets a man named Victor who works for the organization and is supposed to keep Michael on track. Victor tells Michael that he needs help with a case. He gives Michael a phone and tells Michael that he needs to answer it whenever he calls. Michael is worried that Victor might come after his mother so he has Sam watch her. Michael meets with Victor again and finds out that he needs to help stealing something. Michael ends up being the getaway driver and since Victor won’t tell him what they are stealing, Michael turns the trunk into an x-ray machine so he can take an x-ray to determine what Michael helped Victor steal.

Michael and Victor break into the building that contains the package. Victor breaks in while Michael scouts out the location. Security shows up and Michael causes a big distraction so Victor doesn’t resort to killing the guards. Victor loads the package into the trunk and they get away. Michael has the x-rays from the trunk developed and it turns out that a sniper rifle was hidden in the box he helped steal.
