Brothers and Sisters S3.E12 Sibling Rivalry: Brothers and Sisters - Brothers and Sisters, Season 3 - Sibling Rivalry, ABC.com

Overall last night’s episode of Brothers and Sisters was kind of uneventful. It wasn’t a bad episode but it really wasn’t anything special either.  The good news though is that some storylines I like are heading in the right direction while Robert finally got a new storyline that I actually like.

We’ll begin with the storyline pictured above. In what really didn’t come as much of a surprise, Robert has decided to run for the governor of California. Kevin finds out but Robert convinces him not to tell Kitty. What I don’t get is why Kitty is so against the idea. I know it must suck going on the campaign trail but she should be happy since as governor he won’t have to travel back and forth to Washington. That should also be a good idea especially once they are finally able to adopt. In my opinion I like the story idea since in my opinion Robert was most interesting when he was on the campaign. He was getting pretty boring sitting around the house and doing his normal senator jobs. Maybe with a new campaign he can regain some of what the character has lost recently.

Meanwhile Nora continues to work on her charity. She actually ends up getting into a fight with her architect (Roger). I don’t know if it is just me but I see the basis of a relationship starting to form between Nora and Roger. The previews for next week’s episode also seem to all but confirm my suspicions since it appears that Nora is finally going to move on.

Sarah has troubles of her own when her company (Greenatopia) is in need for cash quickly but she isn’t able to get a small business loan. Kitty offers her a loan but that ends up making the two sisters fight since Sarah can’t seem to accept any help from Kitty. Sarah ends up getting a second mortgage on her house in order to get the money for the launch of Greenatopia. From the beginning I have liked this storyline. Maybe it’s because I am an Accounting and Finance major, or maybe it’s that I am glad that she is finally doing something other than tracking down long lost siblings and fighting with Holly. Even though I like the storyline, I think it is moving too slowly. Hopefully once the company is launched, the pace will pick up a little.

Finally Tommy continues his plan to try and take back control of Ojai. He actually comes up with an idea on how to get more shares of stock so he can take over the company. While I don’t know if his plan is technically illegal, it is highly unethical and has next to no chance of actually working. I have a feeling with the recent rumors of Tommy leaving the show, his plan is not going to work and he will either face jail time or will have to leave the area when the deal doesn’t go down.

So what are your thoughts on the episode? Are you happy that Robert is running for governor? What do you think of Nora’s and Sarah’s current storylines? What do you think of the possible departure of Tommy this season?
