Bedrest
After the complications in last week’s episode Joan is taken to the hospital. Some tests are taken and the baby is ok. Joan is forced to go on bedrest. This doesn’t please Joan since it is hard to do her job when she is lying in bed. She still tries to do her work with Trevor helping her. The drug problem at the school comes up again (see below) and Joan comes up with a plan on how to solve the situation. She presents it to her replacement but he doesn’t even look at it. He proceeds with his own plan which involves searching all the lockers at school. Joan is upset that her replacement didn’t listen so she tells Michael about it and Michael tells the replacement to never disregard another of Joan’s reports again or risk his position at the base.
The Drug Deal
Roland heads to school one morning and sees to kids fighting. After the fight is broken up Roland finds some drugs on the ground. When Evelyn returns home from school Michael asks her some questions about school. He asks her if she has heard anything about drugs at the school. Evelyn says that she has heard about drugs at the school but she doesn’t hang out with any of the kids that have them so she is never pressured into taking them. Later that day Evelyn meets Quinn (her boyfriend) at Roxie’s. Evelyn sees Quinn with some of the kids that are known to possess drugs and she also sees money exchanged between Quinn and one of the kids. The next day Quinn enters the military base and he is stopped by the military personel. They search his car and find the drugs. He is actually the kid providing the drugs to the kids at school. Evelyn is depressed that she couldn’t see Quinn for who he really was. CJ comforts her by telling her that love can blind people from other people’s faults. Evelyn meets with Quinn in prison to tell him that things are over for good.
The GED
Roxie continues taking Roland’s GED classes. Roxie is nervous about a practice test for the GED. Trevor helps her study for the test. Roxie ends up failing the test though and she gives up on getting her GED. Trevor and Roland try to talk her into keeping at it but she thinks she will never be able to pass the test. Roland then discovers that Roxie is not stupid but she actually has a learning disability. Roland encourages her to continue preparing for the GED and he will help her learn the material orally (she has trouble learning from written material so he is going to teach her by just talking to her about it).
Saving the Marriage

He gets upset when Denise shows up late for his home coming (she was at the hospital with Getty). Denise tells Frank about Getty’s injury and he tells her that he feels her pain. That night Frank tries to be romantic but Denise really isn’t in the mood. Frank starts worrying that there is something wrong with their marriage. He thinks that Denise has changed too much while he was away. Frank then sees Denise in Getty’s room at the hospital and thinks that something must have happened between them. Denise finishes off her visit with Getty and as soon as she leaves the hospital Getty goes into cardiac arrest and he dies.
Playdate
While dropping off her children at school, Pamela runs into the reporter that recently wrote the article about her. They end up spending the day together going shopping and taking a yoga class. Roxie acts a little jealous when they show up at Roxie’s. Pamela and the reporter get to talking about how they deal with the loneliness of their husbands being away. Back at Pamela’s house the reporter tries to introduce her to adult playdates when she tries to kiss her. The reporter thinks it isn’t cheating on her husband if she does it with another woman. This doesn’t go over well with Pamela. The next day Pamela tells Roxie about what happened and they both realize that they are both missing their friendship and that they need to spend more time together.

Roxie thinks it is suspicious since the pills were supposed to last two weeks longer but Trevor reassures her that there is no problem.
