Ken Jennings (”Jeopardy” champion):

  • Question 1 (2nd Grade Spelling): “How many times does the letter “S” appear in the following word? Success.” Obviously the answer is three and Ken correctly locks in with that answer.
  • Question 2 (1st Grade English): “”Won’t” is a contraction of what two words?” He goes with “will not” and is correct.
  • Question 3 (1st Grade Social Studies): “What is the name of the monument in the following picture?” Obviously you can’t see the picture but the answer is Mt. Rushmore. He goes with that answer and is correct.
  • Question 4 (3rd Grade World Geography): “True or false? The country of Madagascar is an island located in the Pacific Ocean.” He’s pretty sure it is in the Indian Ocean so he goes with false. He’s correct again.
  • Question 5 (2nd Grade Animal Science): “True or false? Polar bears are mammals.” He answers with true and is correct.
  • Question 6 (4th Grade Cultural Studies): “Built in the 1600s, the Taj Mahal stands in the city of Agra in what country?” He knows it is in India and is once again correct for $50,000.
  • Question 7 (3rd Grade Measurements): “Bryce is in a pie eating contest, if he eats 6 ounces of pie every minute, how many pounds of pie will he eat in eight minutes?” He was scared of this question but easily figures out that the answer is 3. He’s correct for $100,000.
  • Question 8 (5th Grade U.S. History): “What Jamestown colony settler married Pocahontas in 1614?” He has it down between two answers so he peeks at Francesca’s paper. She wrote John Smith so he goes with his other guess, John Rolfe, to cover all his bases. John Rolfe is the correct answer.
  • As long as Ken walks out with his $175,000 or more, he will become the largest winning game show champion of all-time.
  • Question 9 (4th Grade Earth Science): “What is the approximate diameter of the Earth in miles? A. 7,900, B. 14,300, C. 27,200″ He doesn’t know the answer but using math, he believes it is A and goes with it. He’s correct.
  • Question 10 (5th Grade Life Science): “There are three basic types of muscle tissue in the human body. Smooth and skeletal are two of them. What’s the third?” He locks in with cardiac and is correct.
  • Million Dollar Question (Social Studies): He isn’t confident with the subject so he drops out of school with his $500,000. The question would have been “U.S. President John Adams was a member of what political party at the time of his election?” Ken knew it, he was a Federalist. He would have been correct.
