America’s Got Talent Quaterfinals Show #4 (August 12th, 2009)

americasgottalent Americas Got Talent Quaterfinals Show #4 (August 12th, 2009)

I got to say that I wasn’t really surprised by tonight’s reveal of the five acts that are moving onto the semi-finals. One of the choices did surprise me, but the rest I could have predicted from the start. I am disappoint that only two of the four acts that I wanted to move on actually did. I am happy though that America has finally seemed to vote pretty smartly and not put through acts that shouldn’t have even made it this far in the competition.

The five acts moved onto the next round include:

#1 Fab Five (Cloggers)-Personally I would have preferred that the Beale Street Flippers were moved on instead since I liked their act a little more. I am not that upset though since I also thought the Fab Five deserved to make the next round as well.

#2 The Voices of Glory (Singers)-Was this really much of a surprise? I knew after their first audition that they were going to make at least the semi-finals. They have the story. They have the voice. They are children. There was no way they were not going to make it to the next round.

#3 Texas Tenors (Singers)-Even though I found their act to be cheesy, I really am not surprised that they moved onto the next round. I personally would have preferred a different act take their spot but America has made many many worse choices on previous seasons of America’s Got Talent.

#4 Paradizo Dance (Acrobat Dancers)-At least America put through two of the acts that I wanted to see make the semi-finals. While I think they are going to have to take another step forward to make the next round, I am hoping that they are able to do it. While their act is a little slow, it is also quite entertaining.

#5 Tony Hoard and Rory (Dog Act)-I am totally shocked by this choice by the judges. I like when variety acts move on but I don’t know if they really deserved to with all their mistakes in the performance. They really need to shore up their act for the next round since they can have no mistakes if they want to make it through another round.

Congrats also go out to Penn and Teller’s “Trick”. It was quite obvious how it was done but it was nice how they showed how other magicians do the trick. They also added humor to the trick. Except that it got gross towards the end, I thought it was a very good performance.

Acts not moving onto the next round include:

Beale Street Flippers (Acrobats)-Their performance last night wasn’t their greatest but they still deserved to move onto the next round in my opinion.

Carol Loo (Dancer)-She didn’t deserve to make the semi-finals and I am glad that America sent her home as soon as possible.

Eleisha Miller (Young Singer)-At least America realized that her talent is not singing. She has stage presence and I wouldn’t be shocked if she finds a talent other than singing where she can better utilize her stage presence.

Pete Peterkin (Obama Impersonator)-I personally would have liked to see him moved onto the next round since I would have liked to see some of his other impersonations.

Alizma (Stupid triplets who think they can actually sing)-At least America also realized that they couldn’t sing. You should have stuck with the violins, Alizma

SQ Entertainment (Dance Group)-While they had talent, I am glad that Paradizo dance was chosen over them. Paradizo Dance just brought more originality.

Charles DeWayne (Singer)-I got to say that I am shocked that he wasn’t put through against Tony Hoard and Rory. It is true that there are too many singers left in the competition. Singers had to be cut sometime. I guess the judges decided to cut some earlier rather than later.
