Unlike last night’s episode, this episode decided to give us more bad acts than good acts. Besides the bizarre bad acts; I have to say that this week’s episode had a couple more average acts, an act that deserved a second chance, two intriguing acts, and one of my favorite acts so far this season. My roundup of July 1st’s America’s Got Talent auditions are after the break.
Divani (Singer): I wasn’t surprised that she was a terrible singer. What I want to know is why she wasn’t x’ed much earlier? F Not Moved On
Other acts not moved on: Jolie and Lester (Singing and Lawnmower Balancing), Rusty Reece (a terrible singer), and Stone White (angry singer).
Lake Houston Performing Arts Center (Dancers): Not a bad dancing group but this season is already putting through way too many dancing groups. I also thought this act can’t compete with some of the other dancing acts put through. They deserved to move on but I don’t think they can or should win the competition. If these first four auditions are any indication of this season I think 90% or more of the final acts will end up being dancers or singers. B- Moved On
Pam Martin and Viva Martin (Owner and Dog Dancing Act): It’s a cutesy act. It’s more dog tricks than actual dancing but I thought the act deserved to move on. I don’t think it has much lasting potential though. B Moved On
Miami’s Magician Marty Brill (Magician): A very very unimpressive magician. He claims that he was going to change magic. All I saw was a bunch of overused magic tricks. He didn’t even have one original trick. Maybe it is just me but I don’t think using no original magic tricks will change the face of magic. D+ Not Moved On
Also not moved on: Brandon Paxton (A poet (Did he really think in America he ever had a chance of moving on reading poetry?)), Diego Baner (A singing teacher who can’t sing himself), and Midwest Entertainers (the poor man’s WWE).
Joseph Constantine and KC (Illusionist/Magician): Not a bad performance. Not nearly as good as the magician in the last episode. Even though I agree that the trick has been done before, I believe he should be given a second chance especially since magicians can always just have an off trick. This show has shown time and time again that magicians are very inconsistent. They can be good one week and poor the next. I am glad that the judges gave him a chance to redeem himself. B Moved On
Also moved on: Fuchsia FoXXX (Belly Dancer), Circus R Us (various circus acts), and The Hurricane Tricksterz (karate dance group).
Hairo Torres (Break Dancing): I think when he said break dancing he might literally meant “break” dancing. I honestly don’t know how he could have done some of the things he did. While I already mentioned that too many dancers have moved on already, Hairo definitely deserves to move on. Even if he is just another dancer, his act was creative and original which I can appreciate. A- Moved On

Performing magic on Television is a different art to the real world as with a film camera you have 30 frames per second unlike the realy world which is as it happens. You must always take this into account when watching magic on tv
