Tonight’s episode was really an interesting episode. Old favorites returned, some amazing talents were found that didn’t involve singing, and easily the worst talent of the season so far was put through to Vegas. Which acts fell into which category? Find out after the break.
Jeffrey Widom (Singer): Not much of a shocker that he wasn’t very good. The most shocking thing is that it took so long to x him. I seriously wonder why family and friends don’t have the guts to tell these terrible singers that singing isn’t their talent before they make fools of themselves on national television. Not moved on. Talent: D Entertainment: D-
Other acts not moved on: Alex Feldman (does a bunch of strange things), Dorothy Bishop (terrible opera singer), Moonwalker (bends arms behind head), and David Glass (singer).
Tallan Noble Latz (Guitar player): Well you can tell that he is definitely a talented guitar player. It’s even more surprising when you take his age into consideration. Unlike some of the child acts, I think Tallan deserved to move on purely based on his talent even without taking his age into consideration. I don’t think a guitar player is going to win America’s Got Talent but Tallan deserves to move onto Vegas and possibility even the finals. Moved on. Talent: A- Entertainment: B+
Other acts move on: A tango dancing group that was unnamed on the show.
Tony Ferrante (Disco Dancer): Every year there is a dancer that the audience and judges seem to like and I think has no talent whatsoever. Every year the dancing act makes the finals somehow despite having no dancing talent. This year it appears Tony is that act. I applaud his energy but there is no way he deserves to move onto Vegas. He is a slightly better dancer than the terrible dancers moved onto the finals the last two seasons but that really isn’t saying much. Despite Piers getting booed for his opinion, I TOTALLY AGREE with his opinion. TERRIBLE CHOICE David and Sharon. Moved on. Talent: D Entertainment: D
Other acts moved on: Arthur Gulkarow (Dancer), Nathan Burton (Magician from season one of America’s Got Talent), and African High Flyers (Acrobat dancer). While I don’t know how Nathan Burton can be on the show again this season after making it quite far in the first season of America’s Got Talent, I can’t say I am upset. He was possibly my favorite act in the first season and I am glad that he is getting a second chance. It also doesn’t hurt that his trick was great once again. For those of you who don’t remember Nathan Burton’s performance on the first season, here is a quick reminder.
Kelly Glover (Singer): Overall I don’t think she is really any worse or any better than the other singers put through to the finals. If she wasn’t able to even make the finals on American Idol though I don’t think she has much of a chance of winning America’s Got Talent. Moved On. Talent: B- Entertainment: B-
Bad Girls (Pop Group): Once again not a shocker. I knew from the minute their act was announced that they would suck. I didn’t think they would be as terrible as they actually were though. One of the worst singing acts on the show this season. Not Moved On. Talent: F Entertainment: F
The Platt Brothers (Dancers): They are definitely a weird dancing act. I give them credit for their originality. As a matter of fact I would move them onto Vegas purely based on their originality. They might not be the best dancers on the show but they were probably the most entertaining with their energy and originality. Talent: B Entertainment: B+
The Spiritual Harmonizers (Singing Group): Overall not a bad singing act. I really don’t think they are any better than the other singing acts put through but I also don’t think they are any worse either. Since the other singing acts were moved on, I can’t say they shouldn’t be moved on either. Talent: B- Entertainment: B-
