For those of you who don’t know 7th Heaven was a long running series on the WB and then the CW. Obviously it was a popular show since it is hard to get eleven seasons unless you have a strong fan base. While not advisable to anyone else, I watched the seventh season without seeing the previous seasons. Overall I thought it was a pretty good drama even without seeing the previous seasons.
For those of you who haven’t seen 7th Heaven before (and should be starting at season one), the show follows the Camden family including Reverend Eric, his wife Annie, and their seven children. For those of you who haven’t seen the show the best way to describe it is as a family drama. It obviously has it’s own spin on the genre but it is very similar to other family dramas.
While I thought the season was pretty good I have to say I am disappointed in the fact that there was no special features. I can understand when older shows don’t have special features but I think that is no longer an excuse for a show that is only a little over a decade old. Whether they were too lazy to add any special features or they didn’t want to spend the extra money to put some special features together, the fact that there is no special features hurts this DVD set.
In conclusion the seventh season of 7th Heaven is a pretty good DVD set even without any special features. If you have never seen the show before I would recommend picking up season one and see how much you like it. Since this is a serialized show it is highly recommended that you watch the show in order. If you are a fan of the show you should definitely pick up the seventh season.
