With seven hours down, we are pretty well into the seventh season of 24. After such a bad sixth season and an average tv movie, 24 had it’s work cut out for it this season. While 24 hasn’t returned to how great it was it’s first couple of seasons, with seven episodes down 24 is on a good pace for a rebound season this year. After last night’s episode though I am wondering where the series is planning on going for the rest of the season.

Jack, Tony, Bill, Chloe and Renee track down Dubaku. While they sneak into the building, Dubaku uses the device in order to target a chemical plant in Ohio. They get the plant near critical condition until the plant manager sacrifices himself in order to buy some more time. Dubaku then calls off the attack when his men notice Jack and company storming their base. Jack, Bill, Tony and Renee end up killing all of Dubaku’s men and supposedly destroy the device. Dubaku gets away in time though and sneaks back into his cover life. Another of Dubaku’s men also capture Henry Taylor and take him to Dubaku. Meanwhile Jack and company decide to let Matobo talk with the President and arrange a meeting in order to get her to help them out.

Overall this was a very good episode in my opinion. The episode was full of suspense and also had some great action scenes.  I thought the storming the base scene was great and it reminded me of the great action sequences in the first couple of seasons. Wasn’t it convenient though that none of the regular cast were injured in the conflict and that the evil villain of this season just happened to be the only person who got away.

Even though I thought last night’s episode was very good, I am worried about the rest of the season. Things appear to be moving too fast this season. While the increased pace has lead to some great episodes I don’t know if the show can keep up the pace. I am just hoping that this season won’t go down the same road that too many 24 seasons have. I just would like for once for 24 to have a season long storyline. Hopefully there is more to this storyline than what we know right now. Otherwise this season of 24 could fall into the same problems that other seasons have fallen into.

Your Take: What is your thoughts on the seventh season of 24? Do you think this is a rebound season for 24 or do you think that 24 is past it’s prime?
