Show Name: Homeland Security USA

When and Where Does It Air?: Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC (premieres January 6, 2009)

What’s It About?: A reality show following the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security who protect the 100,000 miles of America’s borders. Along with the land and sea, they must monitor airports, international mail centers, mountains, deserts, and even the internet. The show is based on a popular Australian series and is shot on location throughout the United States.

Who’s Behind It?:

  • Arnold Shapiro (”Big Brother,” “Scared Straight”)-Executive Producer
  • Paul J. Coyne-Supervising Producer
  • Gigi D’Amore-Coordinating Producer

Why Should I Watch It?:

  • I’ve got nothing. This might be the worst concept I’ve ever seen on network television. It would fit perfectly on A&E but definitely not on ABC.

Why Should I Skip It?:

  • The show sounds awful. I can’t imagine anybody watching it. Now if it was on A&E or the History Channel maybe, but not on ABC.
  • The ratings more than likely will be downright terrible so even if the show somehow becomes good, it probably won’t last long at all. I’m guessing it will be done after just one episode.

Conclusion: Unless I’m incredibly bored on January 6, I don’t see myself even trying the first episode (which more than likely will also be the show’s last).
