Last night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was probably one of the worst episodes of the season for Grey’s Anatomy. The problem with the episode is that none of the stories last night were that interesting.

First of all there was the continuation of the terrible Izzie/Denny storyline. Why couldn’t have Grey’s Anatomy just kept Denny “dead”? I liked Denny in his first stint on the show but this most recent storyline is essentially destroying the character. Hopefully Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s time left on the show is very limited and maybe he can actually get a better role than playing a character that should just remain dead. Next there was the whole intern storyline. I never really liked the storyline. Thankfully it should be over after this week.

One possible positive to come out of the show though is that it appears that Lexie and George will get together very soon. I personally like this idea especially since I think George and Lexie could be a great couple for the show.

Quotes:

Derek: “Who’s making a porno in Izzie’s room.”

Sloane: “Where are all the interns?”

Denny: “Me and my dead guy friends usually talk about sports.”

Ugly Betty S3.E9 When Betty Met Yetti

Last night’s episode was pretty decent overall. I don’t know what it is, but Ugly Betty just doesn’t have the magic it has had in the past. While this season has gotten a little off track I have to say that I think the show is going to be getting back on the right track soon.

What I like is that the show is finally doing something with Amanada and Marc. I like that they are broadening out their characters more from just being Betty’s enemies. Marc and Amanda are interesting characters and hopefully Ugly Betty continues to explore the two characters since they are actually the two most interesting characters on the show.

On top of that I am glad that the show is actually letting Betty start a career. While it might take Betty out of Mode more, I think letting her get her shot at actually becomming an editor is a good idea. I like that a show is actually letting a character improve their career. Hopefully something similar happens with Chuck on Chuck.

Quotes:

Betty: “No offense but you weren’t very good at your job.”

Wilhelmina: “I’d rather gouge my eyes out.”

Marc: “He’s like the malemina.”

Christina: “Betty’s magazine is going to kick your magazine’s arse.”

Ignacio: “I can never show my face in the butcher shop again.”

Marc: “Did he get a look down under?”

While the episode began as a clear ripoff of Cloverfield, the episode still turned out to be a pretty good episode. What I really liked was all the tension between Lois and Clark. It is about time that they start having some feelings for one another. The main reason that this has been a rebound season for Smallville is that the show finally realized that Clark would eventually have to grow up. Now that they are actually turning him into Superman, the show is hitting it’s stride once again.

One thing I didn’t like about the episode though was that Lana is back. While I knew she was coming back to the show, I really wished she wouldn’t have. I have never really liked Lana and I still don’t like Lana. In my opinion the earlier Lana leaves the better for the show. Too bad she is going to be on a couple more episodes yet this season.

While we might have to wait almost two months for another Smallville episode, I have to say that I am excited about the rest of the season of Smallville (I would never have said that at the beginning of this season).

Quotes:

Lois: “Whoa Emeril. Food is outside.”

Jimmy: “Maybe you have to jump his lily pad.”

Supernatural S4.E10 Heaven and Hell

Last night’s Supernatural has some highlights and lowlights in my opinion. We’ll begin with the lowlights. I personally thought the episode was pretty boring. I really didn’t care either way for Anna so there was really no suspense on whether she was going to die or not. I also continue to question why the angels are so dark. At this point, how the angels are acting there isn’t much different between them and the demons. While I could see the show taking a darker tone when they introduced angels into the storyline, I think the show is making them a little too evil to be angels.

The positives of the episode mostly come from the fact that I like that Supernatural is really developing a mythology this season. We found out quite a bit more about angels in the Supernatural environment in last night’s episode.

Before wrapping up my thoughts I have to bring up the Winchester boys getting “busy” the last two episodes. One episode it’s with a demon and the next episode it’s with an angel. While I think it is pretty wierd and creepy I have a feeling that the brothers choice of “companions” could be forshadowing something in the second half of the season. It’s seems kind of odd that Sam chose the demon when the show has been making his character a little darker this season. Then Dean chooses the angel when the show is starting to make his character a little less dark as Dean tries to redeem himself after escaping hell.

Quotes:

Dean: “What’s playing on angel radio?”

Sam: “You’re confussing porn and real life again.”

Dean: “You forgot you were God’s little power ranger.”

Dean: “We’re not that smart.”

Dean: “An angel and a demon in the backseat. That’s the start to a really bad joke.”

Uriel: “It’s so cute the monkey is wearing clothes.”

Uriel: “You cut yourself a piece of angelfood cake.”

Dean: “She’s your hell buddy.”

Last night’s episode was the season finale of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In what has kind of been a disappointing season, I have to say the season finale was one of the best episodes of the season.

In the season finale Charlie makes a musical based off his Dayman/Nightman characters. I personally am a fan of musicals but I would have to say that Charlie’s musical would probably be one of the most offensive musicals of all time. This lead to quite a few funny moments especially when the audience started laughing thinking that the musical was a comedy. What I am wondering about though is how they kept an audience for what possibly could be the worst musical of all time.

Quotes:

Dee: “She actually added words to it.”

Frank: “I’m the troll guy.”

The Waitress: “A free ticket to a play I don’t want to see.”

Charlie: “I will smack your face off of you face.”

survivor-season-17-episode-10 Rants and Raves (November 21st, 2008)Survivor S17.E10

There really wasn’t a whole lot to like about last night’s episode at least in my opinion. First there was the Survivor auction (which I have never liked to begin with). Then there was the whole make Randy look like a fool by giving him a fake immunity idol. While it could ahve been hilarious the whole thing was ruined when we pretty much knew it was going to happen. Combine that with the other players reactions and the moment was ruined in my opinion. While I didn’t like Randy, I thought several players (Sugar especially) pretty much stooped to Randy’s level this week. They kept talking about how Randy was such a bad person and yet they really weren’t any better this week. It is one thing to not like a person but to treat them like dirt (even if he was treating them like dirt) is uncalled for in my opinion.

As far as Bob letting the whole thing happen, I am kind of disappointed that he let it happen but it might have been the best thing in order to continue his game. I still don’t think the whole thing was necessary especially since Randy couldn’t do anything to avoid his current fate. While I think Bob maybe should have kept the fake idol for himself (since it actually looked as real as the real thing), the play in last night’s episode might possibly save his game. He possibly could now work his way into a little group of the main alliance since they are obviously going to betray one another very soon.

While this has been a rebound season for Survivor, I think the chances of someone I actually like winning is pretty slim. At this point the only contestants left that I don’t dislike are Bob, Kenny and Matty (in that order). Too bad they can’t form an alliance since the contestants that are driving me nuts can finally be eliminated. I am guessing that won’t happen since there is probably a better chance that all my favorite contestants are eliminated and the show will be left with a bunch of people I can’t stand.
